The Montreal Canadiens announced on Friday that the veteran forward will return to the teams line-up on Saturday night when the Habs visit the Nashville Predators.FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. -- Matt Ryan said Tuesday his focus is on his new teammates and a new season and hes not fretting about the status of his new contract. Cornerback Desmond Trufant, the Falcons first-round pick, made his off-season training activities debut Tuesday after completing his classes at the University of Washington. Ryan said Trufant made a good first impression. Ryan said another newcomer, three-time Pro Bowl running back Steven Jackson, has shown he is a leader in his first off-season with the Falcons. Predictably, Ryan said little about his contract status. General manager Thomas Dimitroff said recently he hopes to have a new deal with Ryan before the season. The quarterbacks six-year, $66 million contract expires after the 2013 season. Ryan said hes confident Dimitroff and his agent, Tom Condon, will reach an agreement. "You know what, I leave that to my agents and the front office," Ryan said. "Those guys will get that stuff done." Condon could not be reached for comment. Ryan is expected join the list of quarterbacks signing milestone long-term deals. Drew Brees, Tony Romo and Joe Flacco have recently signed five- or six-year deals worth at least $100 million. Ryan set career highs with 32 touchdown passes and 4,719 yards passing as he led the Falcons to a 13-3 record in 2012. Atlanta beat Seattle for Ryans first post-season win. The Falcons lost to San Francisco in the NFC championship game. The Falcons hopes of making another run at a Super Bowl berth were boosted by the teams addition of Jackson and the decision by tight end Tony Gonzalez to postpone his retirement plans another year. Jackson leads all active players with 10,135 yards rushing. "Steven Jackson has come in and hes a leader," Ryan said. "Hes fun to play with and fun to work with and hes a guy who really cares. I think thats been good, too. "I think for him its taken a little time to get adjusted, but when he knows what to do hes a really, really good player and hes really smart, too. Hes picked up a lot of stuff really quick. Hes dedicated. Hes one of the few guys who has called me when hes not here and picked my brain about certain stuff that were doing and I think that says a lot about him." Trufants arrival was delayed untill he completed his academic work at Washington. Nike Air Max 2018. Coach Mike Smith said another draft pick, tight end Levine Toilolo, is expected to complete his spring semester at Stanford on Tuesday and join the Falcons OTAs on Wednesday. Trufant could start as a rookie. "Hes an athletic kid, thats for sure," Ryan said. "He moves pretty well. That was the thing I noticed most of all during one-on-ones." Smith said he has given Trufant and other rookies an overload of information. "Im sure his head is spinning," Smith said. "We want to try to bombard their brains through the off-season. ... Thats always how weve done it. Lets see how they handle all of it at first and not bring them along slowly." Jackson and Trufant are important additions, but Ryan remains the face of the franchise. After five seasons he trails only Steve Bartkowski on the Falcons career lists for yards passing and touchdowns. Bartkowski threw 154 touchdown passes from 1975 to 1985. Ryan, who has 127, could pass the mark in 2013. "Certainly its great to be in the company with Bart," Ryan said. "He obviously was an awesome player in his time, probably the premier quarterback to ever play here in Atlanta. But hes also a great guy and Ive gotten to know him well and hes been very helpful to me in my career thus far. "Its great to be mentioned in that breath but at the same time its not something that you worry about or think about. For me, Im constantly focused on trying to do my job the best I can and if youre constantly worried about statistics and records and all of that it takes away from being able to do the job the best you can." NOTES: Vanderbilt coach James Franklin and his defensive assistants visited Tuesdays practice. Franklin said college and NFL schemes are not as different as in past eras so he can learn from watching the Falcons work under defensive co-ordinator Mike Nolan. ... Among veteran players not attending were Gonzalez, receiver Roddy White and cornerback Asante Samuel. ... The Falcons have mandatory minicamp on June 18-20. Smith said he expects linebackers Sean Weatherspoon and Stephen Nicholas, who have worked on the side with a trainer during OTAs while recovering from injuries, to be cleared for the minicamp. ST. Under Armour Scorpio Black . LOUIS -- Jorge De La Rosa answered a pair of pitching gems by the St. Louis Cardinals with one of his own. The Colorado Rockies offence woke up, too. De La Rosa held St. Louis hitless into the seventh inning and Troy Tulowitzkis three-run homer ended Colorados scoreless streak at 28 innings, sending the Rockies to an 8-2 victory Sunday. "I definitely think it was a big hit and it took some pressure off Jorge," Tulowitzki said. "He didnt feel like he had to be perfect, even though he was real close to being perfect." De La Rosa did not allow a hit until David Freeses two-out single in the seventh. "You try to stay calm," the pitcher said. "I think that helps, but I started feeling tired the last few innings. I think thats why I left a couple of pitches up and they hit (them) very good." Mets lefty Johan Santana pitched a no-hitter against the Cardinals last year. Freese flashed back to that game, which ended when he struck out. "You never want to lose a game. You never want to get no-hit, either," Freese said. "I remember last year it was pretty frustrating against Santana and it was creeping up on us. "So it was nice to get it out of the way." Charlie Blackmon added a two-run homer off Jaime Garcia (4-2) for the Rockies, who snapped a four-game skid. They finished with 11 hits after totalling three in consecutive shutout losses to rookie Shelby Miller and Adam Wainwright. "Jaime definitely had a couple of pretty tough acts to follow," Cardinals manager Mike Matheny said. "He came out and looked pretty good at the beginning, and had a couple things happen that didnt quite go his way." Nolan Arenado, who singled with one out in the eighth to break up Wainwrights no-hit bid Saturday, was among four Rockies with two hits apiece. "Its too good of an offensive lineup to stay down too long," manager Walt Weiss said. "Tulo had a big home run that got us going." The Cardinals lost for just the second time in 11 games. Pinch-hitter Matt Adams RBI single off Matt Belisle in a two-run ninth ended Colorados shutout bid. De La Rosa (4-3) struck out seven and allowed two hits in seven innings, baffling the Cardinals until Freese singled sharply to right off the glove of diving first baseman Jordan Pacheco and Jon Jay followed with a double. De La Rosa finished his longest outing of the season, and his best showing on the road by far, by getting Pete Kozma on a lineout to first. De La Rosa entered 1-3 with a 5.13 ERA on the road and 2-0 at home with 12 scoreless innings. This was the fourth time he worked six or more scoreless innings, and he carries a 13-inning scoreless streak into his next outing. Tulowitzkis eighth homer and first on the road since April 9 stopped the Rockies scoreless streak two innings shy of the team record. They went 30 innings without a run from Sept. 30 to Oct. 3, 2010, according to STATS. The Rockies entered the weekend with the top offence in the National League and still led with a .266 batting average going into the finale of the three-game series. Tulowitzki was 0 for 6 in the first two games with five strikeouts and Carlos Gonzalez had been hitless in 15 at-bats before finishing with two singles and a walk. Blackmon batted eighth after being called up earlier in the day to replace Michael Cuddyer, placed on the 15-day disabled list with a neck injury. Blackmon got a nice ovation for his fourth career homer after mistakenly getting introduced as a player making his major league debut during his first at-bat. "Oh my gosh," Blackmon said. "Thats unbelievable. Who does that? It wasnt my first home run, but they thought it was." Colorado had five hits in the first three innings after totalling three and going 40 consecutive at-bats without a hit the previous two days. The Rockies have never been shut out three straight times. Garcia had won three straight starts before giving up five runs in six innings and falling to 0-3 with a 10.53 ERA against the Rockies in four starts -- his highest against any opponent. He entered as the career ERA leader at 8-year-old Busch Stadium at 2.41. "How many starts have I made against them?" Garcia said. "You know what, I didnt even think about that at all. Obviously, they have a really good lineup but I dont think about those things." The lefty gave up just two homers in his first seven starts and entered with a 2.25 ERA overall. Pacheco doubled with one out in the first to stop a 34-inning drought since the teams last extra-base hit, also according to STATS. The Rockies finished with five extra-base hits, including a two-run double by pinch-hitter Reid Brignac off Carlos Martinez in the eighth. The Cardinals streak of retiring 40 straight batters is tied for the second-longest in the majors since 1974, two shy of the record set by the Seattle Mariners from Aug. 14-17 last year, with Felix Hernandez throwing a perfect game on Aug. 15. Rangers pitchers retired 40 in a row in 1996. NOTES: Gonzalez had two singles and a walk and is 6 for 12 against Garcia. ... Cardinals pitchers had a 2.02 ERA the previous 10 games. ... Cardinals C Yadier Molina was 0 for 3, ending an 11-game hitting streak. He had five hits in the first two games of the series. ... Jay has a nine-game hitting streak with 14 hits. Dean Mumm insists Australia can shut out compatriot Eddie Jones jibes ahead of the Wallabies England showdown at Twickenham on Saturday. Nike Free Rn Flyknit Herre .Mumm fully expects England boss Jones to run the gamut of his box of tricks, but the former Exeter Chiefs lock remains adamant Australia will not be sidetracked by any mind games.Ex-Australia coach Jones fired his first shot straight after Englands win over Argentina on Saturday, hinting at illegal scrum tactics from the Wallabies.Mumm maintains Australia can easily switch off from Jones wily talk however, in their bid to hit back from Saturdays 27-24 defeat to Ireland in Dublin.Im sure Eddies up to his regular tricks but I will try not to make myself aware of it really, because its kind of irrelevant to what we want to do next week, said Mumm. Were not going out there and playing Eddie Jones, were going out there and playing England and theres a whole 23 of them willing to stop us so weve got a big job on our hands to get that done.Australia blew the chance for their first northern hemisphere tour grand slam since 1984 courtesy of Saturdays loss to Ireland at the Aviva Stadium. The Wallabies created several late chances but failed to capitalise on injury-hit Irelands heavily re-jigged backline. Now Michael Cheikas side will hop on to London intent on closing out their northern tour with a victory that would upset the odds and the form of the last 12 months.England whitewashed the Wallabies in Australia in June, but Mumm believes Cheikas troops must not allow that three-Test series humbling colour next weeks clash. We love playing England, its a massive match, said Mumm. Weve lost a goal in the grand slam but theres still a tremendous amount to offer in next weeks game and firstly, Im very excited and Im sure once we have a good look at things and start to focus on the week then the excitement will be right up there. Its always brilliant to play there and I think everyone will be up for it.I think you cant help but be a little bit disappointed in the way June panned out, 3-0 series losses hurt and it actually wasnt that long ago but we wont be focusing on that as a motivating factor.Well be focusing on what we can do on the training pitch come next week and what we can do to put ourselves in the best position to win the match. If you look backwards, then you end up tripping over. TEMPE, Ariz. -- Nearly nine months after he tore an ACL and underwent knee surgery for the second time in three seasons, Tyrann Mathieu is back and ready to go in the Arizona Cardinals season opener against New England on Sunday night.Coach Bruce Arians said Mathieu will play every down. Defensive coordinator James Boettcher said his do-everything All-Pro defensive back is where he left off last year.Mathieu is a little more cautious.Asked on Thursday if he would be at 100 percent for the game, he just smiled and said, Well see.He will wear a brace, but a much smaller one than he did after his first surgery. If Im out there Im going to make some plays, he said. I just want to be prepared mentally. Physically Im all right. Well see how it goes.All-Pro cornerback Patrick Peterson indicated the Cardinals would ease Mathieu back into the game.Im ecstatic to have my partner in crime back on the field with me, Peterson said. Im looking for nothing but big plays from him. Were going to take it slow with him the first couple of weeks to see how hes acclimated to things.Mathieu, the Honey Badger to his legion of fans, didnt play in any preseason games but Arians and Boettcher said the 5-foot-9 dynamo was making big plays in practice.I think he had his hand on three balls today in practice, Boettcher said. Hes himself. Were excited hes back. Hes running around in practice, playing fast, doing a great job of communicating. The Caardinals defense was never quite the same after Mathieu went down Dec. Nike Free DK. 20 in Philadelphia. His passion for the game and energy rubs off on the whole team, even the offense.Just from a morale standpoint, losing him last year was a kick in the stomach, receiver Larry Fitzgerald said. You see a guy whos battled back from injury the year before and to see it happen again, it was demoralizing for all of us. You feel sorry for him but you also feel sorry for your team because he was such a big part of it.Mathieu said he is anxious to play in front of the whole world. Im just ready to show people Im at work on Sunday.Despite his injuries to each knee, the Cardinals signed him to a five-year, $62.5 million contract with $21.25 million guaranteed in a show of just how much the charismatic cornerback-safety means to the franchise. Now he wants to resume the role that made him such an important part of the team. Its Sunday night football, he said. The intensity will be high. I just really want to raise the energy of everybody around me and hopefully my energy stays high for four quarters.Fitzgerald expects it will be.Hes going to be out there playing with his hair on fire, Fitzgerald said, like he always does.---AP NFL website: www.pro32.ap.org and AP NFL Twitter feed: www.twitter.com/AP-NFL Cheap NFL Jerseys Cheap NFL Jerseys China Cheap Jerseys From China Cheap NFL Jerseys Authentic Wholesale Jerseys China Cheap NFL Jerseys China NFL Cheap Jerseys ' ' '

Insurer QBE has reportedly declined a $1. Nike Roshe One Nere E Bianche .2 payout over Anthony Watmoughs career-ending knee injury, leaving Parramatta to pay out the remainder of his NRL contract.News Corp Australia is reporting QBE has deemed the knee injury that ended the veterans career - barely 12 months into his four-year Eels deal - was pre-existing.Faced with paying out Watmoughs contract for the next two seasons, Parramatta reacted angrily on Thursday night to the insurers denial of the claim.A furious Eels administrator Max Donnelly told News Corp: Its outrageous! Why the hell do we have insurance? If Parramatta end up funding Watmoughs contract, it will leave the club a record $11 million-plus in the red for the 2016 season. The only encouraging news for the Eels is that the NRL says the former Manly forwards payout will not be included in the 2017 and 2018 salary caps, despite QBEs ruling, leaving them free to pursue marquee players.A NRL spokesman said QBEs decision did not override the leagues ruling in May that Watmoughs injury was career-ending.If we determine a player has suffered a career-ending injury, we can exclude that players payments from the salary cap.The Watmough insurance claim is believed to have been the first potential seven-figure payout for a players career-ending injury since QBE became the insurer for the top 25 players at each club in 2014 after the Alex McKinnon tragedy. Ivanovich Gorbatovs bubble was burst at Leopardstown on Saturday but would you be prepared to give him another chance in the JCB Triumph Hurdle or has something else caught your eye? The Triumph picture has been muddied recently hasnt it?! I wouldnt be jumping ship just yet though as every horse is entitled to have an off day. With little else really capturing my imagination, Id be happy enough to be clutching an ante-post voucher for the Aidan OBrien/JP McManus juvenile, as a matter of fact I wish Id moved fast and backed him soon after that defeat because hes now back into a clear 5/1 favourite with Sky Bet. The ground was hard work at Leopardstown and whist he has won on heavy, it was holding and thats not easy for young hurdlers. Ivanovich Gorbatov is a classy Flat-bred horse, with plenty of stamina and theres much to like about his chance at the Festival. Theres still a little way to go though, so hopefully the picture will become a bit clearer in the next couple of weeks.Carlingford Lough was a surprise winner of the Irish Gold Cup but Valseur Lido appeared to give owners Gigginstown House Stud another headache with a big run until his last fence fall. How would you split the Gigginstown horses for the Timico Gold Cup and Ryanair Chase? What a position to be in, they have such a strong hand as we inch closer to the Festival and to have leading contenders for both races is a fortunate position to be in. If I were Michael OLeary I would be keen to run Don Cossack and Don Poli in the Gold Cup and that would leave Valseur Lido for the Ryanair, but I just wonder if he needs heavy ground to excel over the Ryanair trip. He stays well enough for the Gold Cup, but probably needs to improve again if hes to win the blue riband and it almost seems a waste of a run to go for the Gold Cup with two very strong contenders already in the reckoning. Road To Riches also comes into the equation for both races, but Noel Meade was disappointed with his second place in the Irish Gold Cup and he will see how he comes out of the race before making plans. As I say, its a great position to be in to have more than one live contender for both races, but having already backed Djakadam for the Gold Cup I hope he bounces back from his fall at Cheltenham on Trials Day. Of the Gigginstown entries, I do love Don Cossack, and hes the horse I keep going back to. Knowing the Gigginstown way, we probably wont know until much much nearer the time and why should they make a decision now when so much can go wrong in five weeks with horses.Nigel Twiston-Davies had a big Saturday double with Bristol De Mai and Blaklion, do you think either can make their mark at the Cheltenham Festival? It was great to see the Twiston-Davies team send out two high profile winners last weekend and both look well capable of making their marks at the festival. Bristol De Mai looks the real deal and hes now 5/1 2nd fav for the JLT Novices Chase after his win in Sandowns Scilly Isles Novices Chase. Sandown fences take some jumping and the step up to 2 ½ miles seems to have been the making of him. He has a smart Willie Mullins trained horse to beat in Killultagh Vic, who you will remember had to be picked up off the floor by Ruby Walsh after a last fence blunder at Leopardstown in January after grinding to a halt and the pair impressively got back up to win. Hes certainly classy, but at 2/1 fav, might not be everyones price. You cant ever be afraid of one horse (or possibly two) and Blaklion looks set to run in the RSA Chase where hes currently 10/1 third favourite with Sky Bet with No More Heroes and More Of That ahead of him. He may lack a bit of size, but his heart is in the right place and he showed a good attitude to win at Wetherby. Hes always looked like a smart stayer in the making and its interesting connections are leaning towards the RSA, rather than the NH Chase over 4 miles, which looks the running into the frame. I think No More Heroes will take some beating in the RSA though, but this is a championship race at the festival and nothing is a given. We could have a chance to see More Of That this week too as hes entered up on Friday and Saturday, although Id like to see Jonjo ONeill in better form before backing his runners with any confidence. He has been back among the winners this month though so maybe the tide is turning.Fingers crossed this weekends cards beat the weather; the big betting race is the Betfair Hurdle at Newbury, who do you think will collect the £155,000 winners cheque? The jump racing programme has been disrupted this week, but I think Newbury will be ok this weekend as there is no appreciable rain before Saturday after an awful start to February. The quality entry befits its status as Europes richest handicap hurdle and owner JP McManus has a strong hand going into the race that has been kind to him in the past. Bookmakers were never going to take too much of a chance on his Modus and the Paul Nicholls trained horse desserves his position at the head of the market. Nike Flyknit Lunar 2 Grigie. He was runner up in the Champion Bumper at the festival last year and has taken well to hurdles, albeit he has been a bit keen. My worry would be the ground as he probably doesnt relish a real slog. So at the prices, Id be happy to take him on. Willie Mullins has a strong entry and its his Blazer that is shortest in the market and cruicially is low down the weights, also for McManus. He only ran last Saturday when winning a Handicap Hurdle at Leopardstown, for which he receives a 5lb penalty. It was a very pleasing run after two runs over fences on his first two starts since joining Mullins from France. He has that dangerously unexposed look about him and is sure to be popular if he lines up on Saturday.Philip Hobbs is having a great season and has a potentially strong hand with War Sound, top weight Cheltenian and Sternrubin in the race. Sternrubin dead heated in the Ladbroke last time out and has to contend with an 8lb rise in the weights. Hes a bit of a runaway and made all that day at a swift pace. It looked a strong enough pace, but he maintained his effort and whilst you wouldnt ideally want to try and make all in a race like this, its the way he has to be ridden. War Sound hasnt been seen since winning the Swinton at Haydock last May and hes up 8lbs. It will be interesting to see which horse Richard Johnson picks, but it appears he could be leaning towards Sternrubin and of the Hobbs runners, hes my pick. Affaire DHonneur represents a trainer going places in Harry Whittington. This horse is another French import and is also unexposed. He was well supported on his British (and handicap) debut for his Oxfordshire handler at Kempton and wasnt disgraced in second; an 8lb rise may not be too harsh and he runs off a mark of 132 on Saturday.Evan Williams runs John Constable who looks like another in with a chance. He was with Aidan OBrien on the Flat and is a full brother to Leger and Gold Cup winner Leading Light. Three runs over hurdles have yielded two wins and a second to Sternrubin in the Gerry Feilden. He is still a full horse, which is unusual for a horse running under National Hunt rules, although not unheard of. An old favourite of mine was Kadastrof, who was trained with success in the 1990s by Robin Dickin and he was an entire. There you go, a blast from the past! Dicosimo was eighth in the Triumph for Willie Mullins and won over hurdles over Christmas. Kalkir is another of the Mullins entries and made a very promising return to action last month and has plenty of class. There has been a bit of support for Starchitect and he could be well handicapped on his debut for David Pipe. He had some smart juvenile form for Donald McCain last season and was one of many horses placed with new trainers this season by his owners. Hes been off since falling at Aintree in April and is beautifully bred. He doesnt have a great deal of experience on this type of ground but looks to be a horse with a decent future.Alan King is enjoying a purple patch and his Winner Massagot looks attractively weighted too. He was well beaten in the Ladbroke though and needs to put that behind him, hes been dropped 3lbs by the handicapper for that effort. Zarib is trained by Dan Skelton who continues in good form and Bridget Andrews rides. Fou Et Sage is his other entry higher up the weights. So, for me its between Sternrubin who looks classy, if a bit free willed, Affaire DHonneur for Harry Whittington and David Pipes new recruit Starchitect with the first two at the top of my shortlist.Which other horse(s) are you hoping to see in action this weekend?Well, despite being at the top of the trainers championship, Paul Nicholls hasnt been sending out big Saturday winners with his usual regularity. The tide could be changing for the Ditcheat handler and Im looking forward to seeing Dodging Bullets back on track in the Game Spirit at Newbury. The horse is in good shape after a delayed return to action due to throwing a splint. This is a frustrating, but not serious injury, that takes time as the leg develops a bony growth that needs to harden off and before it does is very sensitive. Hes a short price, so most likely one to watch with an eye on his repeat bid in the Champion Chase for which hes 9/1 with Sky Bet. Also at the Berkshire track is the Denman Chase which is a race I always look forward to watching and once again Nicholls has a fancied runner in Rocky Creek. Conditions look up his street and he has good claims in the race named after his former stablemate. It doesnt look the strongest renewal and could be a good opportunity to win his first race for almost a year. LAmi Serge is another horse to watch out for. He is also entered in the Game Spirit, but will be odds on if he stays in novice company in the Kingmaker at Warwick which seems most likely. Mercedes and Ferrari insist F1s engine manufacturers have gone out of their way to devise more cost-effective regulations - despite Christian Horner claiming the sport is nowhere on the matter. Nike Air VaporMax Dames . After a 2015 season in which engine politics dominated the off-track agenda as Red Bull threatened to quit F1, the FIA charged the sports four manufacturers - Mercedes, Ferrari, Renault and Honda - to come up with proposals to tackle four key areas of concern in time for 2018 at the latest. These were a reduction in the cost of customer supplies, a guarantee to supply all teams, performance convergence, and improving the noise of the engines. In January, in exchange for keeping the current hybrid technology in place until 2020, the manufacturers agreed to lower the price customer teams pay for their engine supplies to €12m. The FIA said significant further progress had been made and placed a deadline of April 30 for the plans to be formally agreed. However, less than a fortnight before the new rules are supposed to be signed off, Red Bull boss Christian Horner cast down on the chances of agreement being reached. As we sit here now, we are not anywhere near having met any of those criteria and I think unfortunately what will happen, as is often the case with these things, time will run out at the end of the month and nothing will be achieved and nothing will change, Horner said at the Chinese GP. There is one more attempt in the Strategy meeting and the Commission meeting at the end of the month to discuss and table the concerns and where were at, but failing that regulations will inevitably stay as they are. However, Mercedes and Ferrari - who between them supply more than half the grid with power units - have countered Horners claimsFerrari chairman Sergio Marchionne told Sky Sports F1: We have gone miles in terms of engine supply. We have found a way in which the four engine manufacturers can continue to supply the sport on a way that may not be the most economically advantageous, but it does provide continuity for the other teams and I think thats important. So hopefully that will get through. Mercedes chief Toto Wolff suggested Horners comments were a bit of a one dimension and insisted the German manufacturer had gone further than they would have ideally liked to on the issue of supply guarantees in particular.Weve offered much cheaper engines and actually met the targets we set ourselves, the Austrian told Sky F1. We have structured an obligation to supply - which we dont like particularly, but we have offered it to not run into a Red Bull situation again - and all that is on paper. But then it comes down to the detail of the contract and obviously not everybody is happy. He [Horner] isnt happy, but its about finding a compromise. In an attempt to push the manufacturers towards agreeing concessions, Bernie Ecclestone and FIA president Jean Todt controversially proposed the introduction of an independent budget engine for 2017, which would use simpler technology and be made available at a fraction of the cost of the current V6 turbo units.Marchionne says all the engine manufacturers are in agreement that the existing technology should remain the basis for future regulations. Ted Kravitz analyses the 2016 Formula 1 Chinese Grand Prix from Shanghai International Circuit On the larger issue of simplifying the powertrain, I think we need to be careful that we dont end up turning the sport into something that its not supposed to be, he said. This is supposed to be the leading edge of automotive experiences and so the powertrain needs to reflect the development of the industry itself.I am happy with the way in which the powertrain has developed today, it doesnt meet everyones objectives - Red Bull has got a different view - but we are of the view that we need to continue in this fashion and its a view thats shared by the other engine manufacturers.Meanwhile, on the issue of making the current engines louder, Wolff confirmed: We are working on various concepts and have made it one of the key points in order to find solutions.Dont miss the F1 Report on Wednesday at 8:30pm on Sky Sports F1 for full analysis of an action-packed Chinese Grand Prix at the Shanghai International Circuit. SIMONS ISLAND, Ga.MOSCOW -- His legs were hurting, the rain was pouring and he was trailing late in the race. Doesnt matter. This is Usain Bolt. And nothing gets in the way of him and first place, especially when hes driven as he was Sunday in the 100-meter final at the world championships. Bolt blew by Justin Gatlin with about 30 metres to go and never glanced back. He also didnt even crack a smile when he crossed the finish line because this took a lot more work than the worlds fastest sprinter usually needs. Gatlin was second and Bolts Jamaican teammate, Nesta Carter, took third. Of all Bolts titles, this one will have a special meaning, considering he false-started two years ago in the final to lose his crown. Now, its his again. "Its always great to get back your title," said Bolt, who won in 9.77 seconds. "Im happy with myself I got it done." Many of Bolts top rivals were missing from the field. Gone were Tyson Gay (doping offence) and Jamaican teammate Yohan Blake, who was the reigning champion but skipped the worlds because of an injured hamstring. Shortly after the race, Bolt sauntered around the track with his countrys flag tied around his neck like a cape. These days, he has to be the Superman of his sport. Given all the recent doping scandals, track needs someone to save the day. For now, he will settle for blowing away the dark cloud over his proud sprinting nation, which saw some of its most decorated sprinters fall froom grace. Nike Air Max 90 Essential Zwart. Asafa Powell, Sherone Simpson and Veronica Campbell-Brown all tested positive for a banned substance and werent at the worlds. "Im just doing my part by running fast, winning titles and letting the world know you can do it clean," Bolt said. "My focus is to continue doing what I do." And that means running fast times, even on a drenched track. What started as a steady drizzle turned into a downpour just before the gun sounded. So much so that Bolt clowned around when he was introduced to the crowd, pretending to open an umbrella. Really, though, rain doesnt bother him. Not in the least. Neither does anything else, like falling behind early. He knew he might trail Gatlin at the halfway mark, because Bolt has never been a good starter and may have been extra cautious considering what happened in South Korea two years ago. In the lane next to him, Gatlin got off to a great start and thought he might have enough in the tank to beat Bolt, just as he did two months ago in Rome. "Then I saw these long legs coming up on my right side," Gatlin said. "Hes great. Hes just great." These two arent exactly the best of friends, but after the race, Gatlin congratulated Bolt, who had some kind words in return. "For him to say to me, Hey, youre the guy who pushes me to go even faster. Im honoured in that," Gatlin said. "But I thought I had it for a second." Kendrys Morales and Mike Zunino each homered, Aaron Harang pitched seven strong innings and the Mariners won their season-high seventh straight with a 2-1 victory over the Cleveland Indians on Monday night. The Mariners improved on the longest current win streak in baseball and did it without manager Eric Wedge on the dugout railing. Wedge suffered dizziness during batting practice and had to be helped off the field and into the Mariners clubhouse by team personnel. Wedge was examined by team physicians Dr. Mitch Storey and Dr. Edward Khalfayan, and the team training staff at the stadium. Despite Wedge eventually feeling better, the team decided to have him examined at a hospital. General manager Jack Zduriencik said before the game he expected the skipper to be back at the stadium Tuesday. But bench coach Robby Thompson, who managed the team on Monday, said Wedge was expected to spend the night. "Right now theyre just doing a series of tests and obviously hes going to stay overnight and well know more in the morning once all of those results get in," Thompson said. "Hes resting and hes feeling fine right now, hes feeling a lot better. ... He should be fine and Im sure the W is going to help him out a little bit." Morales led off the fourth inning with a homer and Zunino did the same in the fifth off Cleveland starter Ubaldo Jimenez, helping Seattle increase its league-leading total to 29 homers in July. The seven-game streak is the longest for Seattle since winning eight straight in August 2012. Cleveland pitchers had gone nine games -- 85 innings -- without allowing a home run. Jimenez (7-5) kept the streak going through 88 innings until Morales led off the fourth with his 15th homer of the season, which curled just inside the right-field foul pole. An inning later, Zunino fell behind 0-2 and Jimenez tried to sneak a fastball past the rookie. But fastballs are the one pitch Zunino has shown he can hit at the major league level, and he lined a 411-foot shot into the left field bullpens for his second career homer. Seattle has now homered inn 25 of the last 26 games, the only break in the streak coming last Saturday when they won in Houston with just one hit. Air Max 2018 Heren. "Every day youre a different player, but weve been connecting here and every time you connect thats a positive thing and you can build on that," Morales said through an interpreter. "Youve got to work hard in the cage with your teammates every day and I think thats a fundamental thing that were really focusing on right now." Harang (5-8) gave up a solo homer in the first to Nick Swisher, and danced around trouble for his second win in the last three starts. Tom Wilhelmsen survived the ninth for his 22nd save. Wilhelmsen blew a save in Cleveland earlier this season and gave up a one-out double to Michael Brantley. Carlos Santana grounded out, with Brantley advancing to third before Jason Giambi walked. Wilhelmsen got Lonnie Chisenhall to fly out to right for the final out. "Offensively weve got to pick it up," Clevelands Michael Bourn said. "Not press, but just be focused and take it from there." Harang fell behind early when Swisher homered, but found a groove later. Harang retired 11 of the final 12 batters he faced. He threw only 11 pitches total in the sixth and seventh innings combined. He finished seven innings for the fourth time in 16 starts, allowed four hits and struck out two. "You kind of want to match what the guy did the night before and thats how you get on good streaks. Its that competitiveness in the clubhouse, but were also going out there trying to help our team win," Harang said. "All around the guys have been swinging well, the defence has been playing well and the pitching has been there. Thats what it takes to get on streaks like this." Notes: Seattle rookie SS Brad Miller was named the AL player of the week on Monday after hitting .385 with two homers and seven RBIs in Seattles three-game sweep of Houston. He is the first Seattle rookie to be named player of the week since Ken Griffey Jr. in 1989. ... Swisher was hitting in the No. 2 spot for the first time this season. He had hit in the No. 3 or No. 4 spot all season until Monday. ... Seattle RF Michael Saunders had a 10-game hitting streak snapped. All Blacks first-five Beauden Barrett collected an Aaron Smith pass off the back of the scrum, scythed through the Irish defence and coasted towards the line. And then disaster almost struck. The newly crowned World Rugby Player of the Year, looking to ground the ball near the posts, veered in and found himself crunched by a Johnny Sexton tackle. As the pair slid past the in-goal, the ball looked briefly to have been held up by the Irish No.10, no doubt causing Barretts heart to jump right into his mouth. But thankfully for the Hurricanes whiz, the try was awarded by TMO to put his side ahead 14-3 and on the road to an eventual 21-9 win in Dublin. It couldve been a major embarrassment in what was otherwise an imperious display on foreign soil, producing the goods in attack, defence and with the boot.I shouldve just dotted down and made life easier, Barrett told reporters. The second angle didnt look good, but I knew that part of the ball had hit the ground on the first angle, so it was just a relief. The Dublin Test marked the sides first genuine sense of hardship in the post-Richie McCaw era, as the surprise winners in Chicago looked to compound the world champions misery. No side has deefeated New Zealand back-to-back since South Africa in 2009. Uribe hit a poor drive and made bogey, while Henderson dropped a three-foot birdie putt to take a two-shot lead. The lead melted to one at 13, when Hendersons tee shot at the 160-yard par-3 went into the bunker and she made bogey. Uribe fell two strokes back at the par-4, 372-yard 15th with a bogey. The par-4, 397-yard 17th became the tournaments decisive hole. Henderson and Uribe both drove into a bunker, then blasted their approach shots over the green. But Uribe hit her third shot 50 feet past the hole and made double bogey, while Henderson was able to get up and down to save par, making an eight-foot putt.Henderson said it was advantage to have Uribe hit her chip shot first, as both players were over the green and facing testing downhill shots.I was lucky. Teammates Michael Vick, Jason Avant and others expressed forgiveness for Cooper. LeSean McCoy also said he forgives Cooper, but "I cant really respect somebody like that." Cooper, who grew up in Clearwater, Fla., was selected in the fifth round of the 2010 draft by the Eagles out of the University of Florida. He has just 46 catches and five touchdowns in three years with the Eagles, but has been practicing with the starters since Jeremy Maclins season-ending injury last week. "As long as it takes, and whatever I have to do, Im going to try to make this right," Cooper said.
