BATON ROUGE, La. Alejandro Palacios Jersey . -- Lenard Tillery broke Odie Poseys 67-year-old record for the season rushing mark at Southern University, and the Jaguars stayed undefeated in conference play with a 55-0 rout of Mississippi Valley State on Saturday night. The Jaguars (8-2, 8-0 Southwestern Athletic Conference) will close the regular season next Saturday against Grambling State -- also undefeated in the SWAC -- in the 43rd Annual Bayou Classic to decide the West Division champion. The winner will take on East Division champion Alcorn State for the league title in Houston on Dec. 3.Tillery started the day at 1,335 yards and passed Poseys record of 1,399 yards -- set in 1949 -- on a 6-yard carry near midfield early in the third quarter. Tillery finished with 101 yards rushing and a touchdown, pushing his season total to 1,436.Southern outgained MVSU (1-10, 1-8) 555-68 and built a 34-0 lead at halftime. Hugo Ayala Mexico Jersey . Manchester City have been boosted by the return of Vincent Kompany and Raheem Sterling for Tuesdays trip to Newcastle, live on Sky Sports 1 HD. http://www.teamcolombiasoccer.com/Jackson-Martinez-Copa-America-Jersey/ . After a poor run of form in February in the Premier League, City have reignited their hopes of a top-four spot with three successive victories, including a 3-0 demolition of reigning champions Chelsea on Saturday. They next head to Rafa Benitezs Newcastle and a win would put them three points ahead of fourth-placed Arsenal with four games remaining. And it will be a big relief for manager Manuel Pellegrini to have captain Kompany and winger Sterling back in the squad.Kompany has missed six matches with a calf injury, while Sterling has been out for five games with a groin injury. However, speaking to the media on Monday, Pellegrini did confirm that David Silva (ankle), Samir Nasri (thigh), Gael Clichy (back) and Bacary Sagna (back) would all be unavailable.Kompanys return provides the Chilean boss with a welcome selection headache, with Eliaquim Mangala and Nicolas Otamendi in top form at the back.Pellegrini said: Ive said that in a season where we are fighting for important things, its because we have a good squad.Kompany has been injured so the other defenders have done well, but he will be an important help for the defence. On the prospect of Sterling starting at St James Park, Pellegrini added: Well see, hes coming back from an important injury, well see if he can play some minutes. Pep news hurt us Hiring Pep Guardiola hit Man City title bid, says Pellegrini Pellegrini also played down concerns over Nasri, who has impressed in recent weeks following his return from a six-month lay-off.On the Frenchmans injury picked up against Chelsea, Pellegrini said: He played 90 minutes at the weekend and then another 75, maybe it was too much. He was feeling well, its a small muscle injury, its not too important, well see how many days.City will be desperate to continue their fine run but will be facing a team fighting to stay in the top-flight and in buoyant mood after beating fellow-strugglers Swansea 3-0 at the weekend. Manuel Pellegrini was pleased with Saturdays victory at Chelsea The Chilean added: The team are just focused on what we need to do. We need a Champions League spot for next season, and to focus on Real in the semi final.Newcastle are very dangerous, they have good players, St James is difficult place to play. They need the points in their survival battle. I hope we continue as we did on Saturday, being aggressive and trying to win from the beginning. He added: Its not depending on what Newcastle can do. We must continue the way we played on Saturday, solid, keeping a clean sheet and scoring goals. If we continue like that it doesnt matter who we play. STANFORD, Calif. James Hanna Cowboys Jersey . -- Even in November, Tara VanDerveer prepares her team for March by scheduling tough games and treating them like NCAA Tournament matchups.Crisp ball movement and balance carried Stanford.Brittany McPhee scored a career-high 28 points, Erica McCall added 17 points and six blocked shots, and No. 11 Stanford avenged a home loss against Texas from two years ago by beating the eighth-ranked Longhorns 71-59 on Monday night.McPhee shot 11 for 15 and had seven rebounds, while McCall had five boards and blocked five of her shots in the first half as Stanford (2-0) shot 54.9 percent to overcome 20 turnovers and spoil Texas season opener. Our team really focused. This was like an NCAA Tournament week. It was awesome, VanDerveer said. Im really proud of how people worked and Im really excited for the good things that we did and well go right back to work and get ready for Gonzaga and clean up some of those rebounds, some of those turnovers.VanDerveer, the Hall of Fame coach beginning her 31st season at the school and 38th as a college coach, moved 18 victories away from joining the late Pat Summitt as the only womens coaches to reach 1,000 career wins. After the Longhorns cut Stanfords lead to 52-47 on Joyner Holmes layin with 3:10 left in the third quarter, McCall quickly answered on the other end and Alanna Smith scored the next time down as the Cardinal capitalized on Atkins turnover.Smith, a sophomore from Australia, had her family in the stands visiting. Her father, Darren, was asked during one timeout what insight he had for the team -- and his response was a good one.Get Brittany McPhee the ball, he said, smiling.Brooke McCarty, the leading returning scorer for Texas after she averaged 11.8 points last season, had 20 points and Ariel Atkins had 14.It was an eye opener today, McCarty said. We kind of have to take that and roll with it. We just got outplayed and we got beat.A junior guard with 11 career starts over her first two college seasons, McPhee is taking on a bigger role for VanDerveers young team. And Texas, which beat Stanford the past two seasons, didnt have an answer for her accuracy. The Longhorns ended the Cardinals 28-game home winning streak with an 87-81 overtime win at Maples Pavilion on Nov. 20, 2014, when Stanford was ranked sixth and Texas No. 10 -- the programs first win over a top-10 team in almost six years. It marked the first meeting when both teams were in the top-10.That year, Stanford couldnt make it two in a row after beating No. 1 Connecticut 88-86 in overtime three nights earlier to snap the Huskies 47-game winning streak. Then Texas won again last season in Austin, 77-69.Stanford was too much this time. When you get beat sometimes all you do is talk about what your team wasnt good at but I would say that midway through the second quarter they really broke our defense down, Texas coach Karen Aston said. Were young and a little bit immature and I thought that we started panicking a little bit. We missed some free throws and our confidence got rattled a little bit at the end of the first half and we werent able to recover from that.BIG PICTURETexas: The Longhorns held a 38-32 rebounding edge but were just 6 for 14 at the free throw line. They lost a season opener for the first time under fifth-year coach Aston (4-1). ... Aston coached her 300th career game. She is now 190-110 starting her 10th season as a college coach and 89-47 in her fifth season leading the Longhorns. ... Texas started the season on the road for only the second time in the past 13 years.Stanford: McCall was one off her career high in blocks. She had three blocks in a season-opening win against Cal Poly on Friday and now has nine through two games. I love blocked shots, she said. ... The Cardinal are 15-4 at home against top-10 teams over the last 10-plus seasons and 139-7 at Maples since 2007-08.UP NEXTTexas: The Longhorns host Houston Baptist on Wednesday morning in their home opener, an 11 a.m. local time tipoff for the programs annual 40 Acres Field Trip game for middle-school students from around Texas and a day that includes educational activities.Stanford: The Cardinal have another tough opponent Friday at home against West Coast Conference power Gonzaga, winner of 11 of the last 12 WCC regular-season titles and picked to do so again. Sky Sports News Alex Hammond answers the big questions and puts up Frosted as her best bet on Dubai World Cup night. Yohan Cabaye Paris Saint-Germain Jersey . 1. The dust has settled on another epic Cheltenham Festival - which of the many highlights will you remember most fondly? There were so many and dont get me started on Vroum Vroum Mag! I loved her before the Mares Hurdle and I love her even more after it. Sprinter Sacres resurgence was up there with the most moving of racing tales though. It is no exaggeration to say that Nicky Henderson has virtually brought this horse back from the dead. When he suffered a fibrillating heart in December 2013 I thought that would be the end of him and until this autumn he looked a shadow of his former self; it appeared that the old spark had been extinguished. However, he has improved with each win this season and his defeat of Un De Sceaux brought a tear to my eye. Nico De Boinville has struck up such a special partnership with the horse too and knows him better than anyone having been his work rider from the start. Sticking with Willie Mullins, what a week! Annie Powers win in the Champion Hurdle was another that sits well with me. I had said beforehand that it would be a disgrace if a mare of her calibre was to never win at the Cheltenham Festival. Not only did she win, but she pulverised the boys and the fact she beat my selection My Tent Or Yours didnt take any of the shine off it (Id backed him each-way so there was some consolation). Whilst the decision to run Vautour in the Ryanair was a controversial one, the horse was imperious and who knows what would have happened if he had run in the Gold Cup. As for Vroum Vroum, she looked outstanding didnt she? She has yet to be extended and the world looks to be her oyster. The good news is that Rich Ricci is planning to keep all three of his Festival-winning mares in training so we will see Annie, Vroum Vroum and Limini again next season. I was also pleased to see Martin Keighley win the Cross Country race with Any Currency. Martin is a really likeable trainer and has had his share of ups and downs. I dont think anyone would begrudge him a Festival winner and I hope it helps to attract him some new owners. Likewise I was delighted to see Nigel Twiston-Davies saddle a double with Blaklion in the RSA Chase and Ballyandy in the Bumper. The raw emotion that connections show is really engaging and Nige shouting his first winner home was great to see.Im cross with myself for deserting Ivanovich Gorbatov in the Triumph. For weeks I had been putting him up, despite his flop at Leopardstown in February, but I jumped ship and paid the price. Dan Skelton provided further proof he is a champion in waiting with his first Festival winner. His father (famous show jumper) Nick has put his faith in him and Harry and is being rewarded. Nick looked as proud as punch after the win of Superb Story in the County Hurdle and it was memorable from my point of view too because I backed him.High and lows in the Gold Cup, I felt so sorry for everyone involved with Cue Card who was travelling as well as anything when crashing out three from home. I imagine Paddy Brennan has beaten himself up about the fall, but these things happen and they live to fight another day. The horse just changed his mind and tried to put a shorty in at the fence and ploughed through the top of it. I saw him walk back in afterwards and was relieved to see he looked okay. Don Cossack is a stunning horse with the ability to match. Gordon Elliott had a mixed week and I was gutted for him to lose No More Heroes, but to win this was a fabulous result for the stable. Sky Racing Tickets Fast, secure racing tickets: Exclusive racing offers near you 2. If pushed to have a 2017 Cheltenham wager today, what would it be and why?As soon as Thistlecrack cleared the last flight of hurdles I messaged a friend of mine to suggest they back him straight away for next years Gold Cup. As hes now 8/1 second favourite with Sky Bet I wish Id taken my own advice! There was no initial indication that the Gold Cup would be the plan in the immediate aftermath, but he is a tall horse and if hes to go chasing it needs to be sooner rather than later. I was told when I first started out in racing that if you leave it to eight to nine years old to send a hurdler over fences they never quite adapt. Well, hes eight this year and now is the time. However, despite general opinion being that he jumped his hurdles well, I thought he wasnt quite respecting his obstacles as much as youd like and he certainly isnt one of those horses that just skims over the top of them in a neat, efficient way. I think a fence will be the making of him; which seems a silly thing to say for a World Hurdle winner and he has apparently already schooled over fences. Given the gut-wrenching fall of Cue Card for the Tizzards in what was possibly his last real shot at the Blue Riband, it is exciting to think they have a horse of his calibre (if not better) waiting to take over the staying chase mantle. Ill admit I wasnt convinced about his chance in the World Hurdle because I thought he could be vulnerable on the better ground, but he looked like an absolute machine. As soon as Thistlecrack cleared the last flight of hurdles I messaged a friend of mine to suggest they back him straight away for next years Gold Cup. As hes now 8/1 second favourite with Sky Bet I wish Id taken my own advice! I was going to suggest getting on Faugheen for next years Champion Hurdle, but at 2/1 I think we can afford to wait! Maybe we should be backing Victoria Pendleton to win the Foxhunters?! The admirable Pacha Du Polder is 25/1 for next years contest, but who knows if she will get the chance to ride him again. Ridden the way he was, he looked like he stayed the trip well and I wouldnt be averse to backing him to stay it in the future. Victoria has done a magnificent job over the past year and for any non-riders out there I can tell you what she has achieved is nothing short of astonishing. Any of us could learn to ride a bike round a velodrome, albeit slowly, but to learn to ride from scratch as she has done and to take the inevitable falls along the way without losing your bottle, takes some doing. She showed admirable qualities and remained poised and professional throughout the last year in the manner you would expect of an Olympian and I applaud her.3. In the Crabbies Grand National or otherwise, which Festival runner are you likely to be following at Aintree next month?Well it would be some consolation if Cue Card were to win the Bowl and he is 4/6 favourite with Sky Bet to do so. One of the biggest eyecatchers of the week was Pacha Du Polder who stayed on well up the Cheltenham hill under Victoria Pendleton. He is entered in the Fox Hunter Chase and the Topham at Aintree. The drop back in trip would be ideal and he jumps like a stag. Hes 5/1 for the Foxhunter and 16s for the Topham. Vautour would be hard to beat if he turns up in the Melling Chase and his price of 4/9 reflects that. Likewise Annie Power in the Aintree Hurdle should she run there; shes 1/2 favourite. Thistlecrack and Cole Harden look set for another clash in the Liverpool Hurdle on National day, but on the evidence of Cheltenham the World Hurdle winner will take some stopping.4. The All-Weather Championship Finals, now in its third year, comes to a head at Lingfield Park on Friday. Which horses do you fancy to give us all an Easter bonus? Its great to see this fixture becoming so popular after the initial doubts about staging racing on Good Friday. I have to say I was sceptical at first because stable-staff work hard with little enough respite from long days. However, the valuable prize money on offer helps boost the stable pool fund and it now seems to have been accepted as part of the calendar. Id love to see Grendisar win the feature Easter Classic for Marco Botti, but at 6/5 favourite he wont make us a million. I was impressed with him in the Winter Derby and he loves it round Lingfield. He was third in the race last year but looks like the best horse in the race this time round.Andrew Baldings Ballynanty at 6/1 is the one Ill give you as my best bet in the Marathon at 2.40pm. Ralph Becketts Moonrise Landing is the market leader having won her last two on the all weather including a defeat of last years Marathon runner up Anglophile at Wolverhampton in December. In turn, Charlie Applebys Anglophile beat Ballynanty over course and distance last time out in January, but the runner up was desperately unlucky and you wouldnt bet on the winner confirming those placings. Ballynanty may only have a maiden win to his name, but he has only run seven times in his career and Balding thinks plenty of him. The step up to two miles was always guaranteed to suit this stoutly bred son of Yeats and if hes to run in the Chester Cup, which is the plan, then he should make his mark here. Id love to see Grendisar win the feature Easter Classic for Marco Botti. I was impressed with him in the Winter Derby and he loves it round Lingfield. He was third in the race last year but looks like the best horse in the race this time round. Mindyourownbusiness is another to have on your shortlist in the Mile at 3.15pm but again hes pretty short at 15/8 with Sky Bet. He had the perfect prep for this race when winning at Wolverhampton last month but has to put a disappointing run in this last race year behind him. He didnt get the best of luck then though and connections are back for more. He is drawn in the middle this time which should aid his cause. At 2.10pm the Sprint looks devilishly difficult, but there has been plenty of chat about Kevin Ryans Goken. Hes 4/1 second favourite with Sky Bet behind Dean Ivorys favourite Lancelot Du Lac. The latter deserves his position at the head of the market, but Goken was considered smart enough to run in the Commonwealth Cup at Royal Ascot when trained by Henri-Alex Pantall in France last summer (he was eighth at 50/1). He was then well beaten at Glorious Goodwood but made a winning start for Ryan at Lingfield in November on his all weather debut. There looks to be much more to come. He is well drawn in stall one and I think its worth taking the favourite on with this dual Group 3 winner. 5. The Dubai World Cup at Meydan on Saturday has attracted an International field. Can California Chrome go one better than his runner up spot 12 months ago?Well, its promising to be a cracking evening and Flat racing fans look set to have an enjoyable Easter. All eyes will be on California Chrome in the Dubai World Cup, but I think he could be vulnerable once again. On the book its virtually a two-horse race with California Chrome 15/8 favourite and Frosted 9/4 next best and 10/1 bar those two. As the race is now run on dirt it has attracted the American raiders they seemed to covet. Like the favourite, Frosted is trained in the States, this horse in the care of Kieren McLaughlin, but is owned by the boys in blue, Godolphin. He comes out of stall nine, with California Chrome two spots wider in 11 of the 12 runners. So Frosted is favoured marginally by the draw. Frosted won Round 2 of the Al Maktoum Challenge on his UAE debut and he looked a class apart from his lesser rivals there. He was a top class three-year-old in the US and McLaughlin won this race in 2007. At the prices Ill be on him to give his owners anther winner in their race. In the response filed Wednesday to the complaint by 30-year-old Alexander Bradley, attorneys say the former University of Florida player is invoking his Fifth Amendment right that protects people from incriminating themselves.PARIS -- After David Beckhams long and distinguished football career ends on a remote plastic field in northwestern France, his life promises to be far more glamorous once he steps away from the game he loves. Nearly 20 years after breaking into the Manchester United team, the 38-year-old former England captain won the French league title with Paris Saint-Germain this season. But after announcing his retirement on Thursday, Beckhams role in football will take on a new dimension worldwide. He has an ambassadorial role for Chinese football and for British television channel Sky, as well as an option to buy a franchise in Major League Soccer. "I would like to wish him all the best for all of his future projects," PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi said. "We are talking about the possibility of continuing our work together." But PSG may have to join the queue, as the English Football Association also desperately wants him on board. This was the same Beckham who, although ruled out of the tournament through injury, insisted on travelling to South Africa to support his teammates at the 2010 World Cup. Beckham is reportedly being paid an extraordinary 20 million euros ($30.6 million) over five years to work as a Sky Television ambassador -- showing how much of a draw he remains. "Hell have more time on his hands and more time for commercial partners and the brands he can work or be associated with," said Steve Martin, the chief executive of M&C Saatchi Sport and Entertainment. "He has also got so many commercial sponsors that will carry on whether he is playing or not." He may develop business interests in the United States, too. Beckham had five decent years with the Los Angeles Galaxy from 2007-12, winning the championship in his last two seasons. He still has first refusal if he is offered an MSL franchise, although for now it remains unclear where that might take him. "I have the option of owning a franchise," Beckham said in December, "and that excites me." So thats Europe and North America. What about Asia? Two months ago, part of Beckhams future was already in full swing as he arrived in China. At the time, he said he hadnt ruled out playing professionally in China one day. "Who knows? People keep saying that it will be my last club, it will be my last season," he said. "I continue to play and I love playing, so well see." But any matches in China in the future will only be exhibition games -- such as the one he is scheduled to play in November. He still has a pivotal role to play there. Developing a youth program is considered a priority for the Chinese Super League, with a mere 8,000 players of all ages registered at local associations in a nation of 1.3 billion people. A weak youth system, along with rampant corruption, has been blamed in part for the Chinese national teams poor international results. The country has only played once at the World Cup, in 2002. Beckham wants to play a key part in inspiring and training ttalented young players who might one day represent their country internationally. Nicolas Douchez Paris Saint-Germain Jersey. He was praised for his contribution to Londons successful bid for the 2012 Olympics and any project which has him as a figurehead is guaranteed to spark worldwide interest. There is also talk of another role -- as part of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar -- although that remains uncertain at this stage. Certainly, there is already a firm link between Beckham and Qatar, with PSGs owners -- QSI -- finally getting him to join when he went to PSG on the last day of this seasons transfer window. "It is an immense honour to have convinced him to join," Al-Khelaifi said. PSG missed out on Beckham the previous year, and his signing raised a few eyebrows in France. "I was proud France and PSG could attract a player like David Beckham," Lyon striker Bafetimbi Gomis said. "Friends of mine in the PSG dressing room told me what a great professional he is." With almost perfect timing, he made his league debut as a substitute against rival Marseille on Feb. 24 and showed his legs could still last the pace by playing 86 minutes against the same team in the French Cup three days later. Beckham was booked in that game -- a sign of things to come. He lost his temper badly at Saint-Etienne a few weeks later, grabbing and pushing Brazilian striker Brandao after hed gone in late on PSG teammate Thiago Silva. Although Beckham has played reasonably well at times during his 13 games so far, most were as a substitute, and he has actually stood out more for his combative streak than for his passing and crossing. Beckham has set up only one goal, a delightful chipped pass from the right against Rennes that appeared to be going in anyway before top scorer Zlatan Ibrahimovic helped himself to another goal. That performance came in between the home and return leg of the Champions League quarterfinals against Barcelona. PSG coach Carlo Ancelotti started Beckham in the home leg -- against one of the best midfields of all time -- and Beckham was criticized by French media, with sports daily LEquipe marking him 3 out of 10. It was a harsh criticism, as although Beckham hardly stood out, his neat and tidy passing from a deep-lying position was what Ancelotti wanted. Beckham was booked in the second leg against Barcelona and then against Evian on April 28, he was red-carded shortly after coming on as he went into a tackle with a dangerously raised foot. There was no contact, but it was reckless. Against Brest at Parc des Princes on Saturday, Beckham will have a chance to say farewell to PSGs fans, who only knew him for a short time, before pulling on a jersey for the final time in Lorient on May 26. Then it will be out of the shorts and into the suit as a new chapter in Beckhams life begins. "He is on a totally different planet to other players in terms commercial value and long-term ambassadorial role," Martin said. "His appeal is so enduring and that wont change (for another 20 years)." Cheap NFL Jerseys ' ' '

Reaction to Saturday nights melee between the Vancouver Canucks and Calgary Flames is coming in from not just the media and fans, but from NHL teams, as well. Ben Gardner Cowboys Jersey . Phoenix Coyotes enforcer Paul Bissonnette said he was watching the game with keen interest. "I was entertained to say the least," said Bissonnette. "[It was] must-see TV, especially when the stuff took place after the period." San Jose Sharks captain Joe Thornton agreed with the assessment. "Oh yeah, its great," Thornton told CSN Bay Area ahead of Mondays visit by those same Flames. "Very entertaining. Who wouldnt want to watch that?" As entertaining as the wild scenes might have been, Bissonnette thinks the situation could have been avoided and wondered about Flames coach Bob Hartleys decision to start his fourth line. "Maybe [it was] a bit gutless to start the fourth line," said Bissonnette. "Could it have been defused? Yeah...[you] can look at it either way...everyone would assume what he was doing was get things going physically and I dont mean by just hitting guys." Sharks coach Todd McLellan didnt sound to concerned about the prospects of a repeat performance on Monday night. "What happens if Doug Wilson signs Wayne Gretzky or Bobby Orr today?" McLellan responded to a the possibility of Hartley starting his fourth line again. Coyotes coach Dave Tippett said it wasnt the first time hes seen something like that over his years in the game. "Coach in the minors for five years and you see lots of stuff like that," said Tippett, who is in his fifth in Phoenix. The Coyotes bench boss concurred with his Canucks counterpart John Tortorellas take on the situation. "I think John said it best - you have to look out for the welfare of your players," said Tippett. At a news conference Tuesday where it was thought that the fiery Schallibaum may be shown the door after a dismal finish to the Major League Soccer season, team president Joey Saputo said no decision has been made on whether the Swiss Volcano will be back in 2014. NEW YORK -- When teams dangle veteran stars for prospects this offseason, Yankees general manager Brian Cashman will do his best to say no.New York missed the playoffs for the third time in four years and at 84-78 finished four games out of an AL wild card. The Yankees struggled to a 9-17 start, then improved in the final two months of the season after bringing up catcher Gary Sanchez, right fielder Aaron Judge and first baseman Tyler Austin.First base prospect Greg Bird, a late 2015 sensation, returns following shoulder surgery, and more youth could bubble up from the minors during the season.Right now, a veteran pitcher such as White Sox ace Chris Sale probably is not a good fit for the rebuilding Baby Bombers. We have an exciting, young nucleus thats coming, Some of its arrived, some of its still coming, Cashman said Wednesday.Youd have to be one piece away, and I would not recommend that type of decision-making as we approach the 2017 season. I think that would be a dangerous approach.Cashman spoke for nearly an hour, assessing 2016 -- our offense was bad; we had a bad offensive team -- and detailing his approach for 2017. He anticipates competitions among young players for first base and right field during spring training. There will be some hesitancy to forego giving the kids a chance to take it, and certainly that can create some problems if they dont, he said. But that doesnt preclude me from being open-minded to any and all opportunities that present themselves.Seven years removed from its last World Series title, the Yankees traded Aroldis Chapman, Andrew Miller, Carlos Beltran and Ivan Nova for prospects during the summer and released Alex Rodriguez. They cut payroll to roughly $224 million and saved $2.38 million in luxury tax in the process, but still will pay about $26.5 million.Yankees average home attendance dropped from 41,995 in Derek Jeters final season in 2014 to 39,4300 last year and 37,820 this season. Who knew we were actually sitting on a dynasty waiting to happen? None of us.Cashman also:- anticipated he and Girardi would go through the final seasons of their contracts in 2017 and ownership will then decide after the season whether to offer new deals.- wants to reach a new deal with pitching coach Larry Rothschild; the other coaches are signed through 2017.- even though Gary Sanchez has supplanted Brian McCann as the starting catcher, he envisions a role for McCann as a backup catcher and designated hitter. But that doesnt preclude me from listening (for a potential trade), either.- views Luis Severino as starting pitcher but is concerned about a sophomore slump that resulted in a 3-8 record and 5.83 ERA. EDMONTON -- It appears the Edmonton Oilers have another weapon to add to their already potent arsenal. Darian Stewart Broncos Jersey . David Perron scored a goal and added an assist on Saturday as the Edmonton Oilers came away with a 5-2 exhibition victory over the Vancouver Canucks. The 25-year-old from Sherbrooke, Que., upped his pre-season totals to three goals and four points in his first three games with the Oilers since coming in an off-season trade with St. Louis for fellow forward Magnus Paajarvi. Perron was pleased when he first learned of the trade because he would be leaving a strict defensive system with the Blues and joining the likes of Taylor Hall, Jordan Eberle and Nail Yakupov in a more free-wheeling system with the Oilers. That feeling hasnt changed since he officially arrived in Edmonton. "Im even more excited now," said Perron. "Im trying to do my best to be a factor on both sides of the puck and produce every night. Hopefully I can keep improving. This is just the start. "Its nice to be coming to a team that is a little more offensive oriented. It is not like St. Louis wasnt trying to score, but it was pretty evident that they are a defence-first hockey team." Oilers head coach Dallas Eakins believes his club could have a gem in Perron. "I think we have a lot there," said Eakins.. "He can score, he competes hard and hes not afraid to get his nose dirty. Weve let him loose on the penalty kill a little bit. I think we have a very well-rounded player and another guy who is excited to play hockey. He really likes to play the game and thats important." Sam Gagner, Ryan Smyth, Yakupov and Will Acton also scored for the Oilers (3-1-1). Mike Santorelli and Jannik Hansen replied for the Canucks (0-3-0). The Canucks got on the board with the games first shot 1:20 into the first as Santorelli snuck the puck through the pads of Oilers starting goalie Jason LaBarbera. Edmonton had a full two minute five-on-three power play seven minutes into the opening period after a head shot on Hall, but were unable to get a puck past Vancouver goalie Eddie Lack. The Oilers tied the game on the power play with seven minutes left in the first as Perron sent a pass through the crease, giving Gagner an easy tap-in to an open net. Edmonton went up 2-1 four minutes into the second period with a short-handed goal from Perron, who picked up a rebound and sent a backhander in for his third of the pre-season. The Canucks lost centre Jordan Schroeder midway through the second as he had to be helped off the ice favouring his left leg after blocking a shot. Gagner also left the game late in the second after taking a Zack Kassian stick in the face and losing several teeth and did not return. The game stayed 2-1 until 15:58 of the third period when a puck deflected to Smyth at the doorstep and he shovelled it past Lack for a two-goal lead. Less than a minute later the Canucks responded as Hansen picked the corner on Oilers backup Tyler Rimmer to make it 3-2. Edmonton put the game away shortly afterwards, however, as Yakupov beat Lack with a quick wrist shot and Acton scored into an empty net. Notes: It was the second consecutive pre-season game between the two teams. Edmonton won the first contest 4-1 in Vancouver on Wednesday. The Oilers and Canucks will next meet in regular season play on Oct. 5 in Vancouver. Winger David Booth was expected to make his first appearance in a Canucks game since March 16th, but left the morning skate after just five minutes with what was described as groin stiffness. Chris Higgins, Alex Edler and Schroeder made their pre-season debuts for Vancouver... Neither Daniel or Henrik Sedin made the trip to Edmonton. The Islanders dealt Thomas Vanek to the Montreal Canadiens after less than a year on Long Island. Meanwhile, the Oilers dealt long-time sniper Ales hemsky to the Ottawa Senators on Wednesday for a fifth-round pick in 2014 and a third-rounder in 2015.The Blue Jays are facing an interesting conundrum. With a 45-49 record at the all-star break and only a minimal chance of making the post-season, should they trade for immediate help in the rotation (their biggest need)? Should they be sellers? Should they promote from within? The hottest rumour over the weekend, from Bruce Levine of ESPN Chicago, had the Blue Jays and Texas being the front runners in a trade with the Cubs for right hander Matt Garza, whos slated to become a free agent after this season. Garza has pitched extremely well since returning from an elbow operation, racking up a 6-1 record and taking the Cubs deep into ball games every start. Hes making $10.25 million this season, and the Cubs are balking at giving him the kind of raise he is looking for. Garzas career record is only 63-62 and just 21-18 in two-a-half injury marred seasons with the Cubbies since coming over in a 2011 deal with Tampa Bay. Consider what the Cubbies had to give up to get him from Tampa Bay - a five-for-two deal, with the Cubs giving up right hander Chris Archer, catcher Roinbson Chirinos, outfielder Brandon Guyer, shortstop Hak-Ju Lee and utility outfielder Sam Fuld. Archer alone makes that deal worth it for the Rays. He pitched his first career shutout on Sunday, striking out eight and blanking Houston 5-0 to bump his record to 4-3 and reduce the 24 year olds ERA to 2.96. Sam Fuld has turned into a valuable role players with the Rays as well. The Cubs know they arent going to get five players back for Garza, especially with free agency looming, but theyre not going to give him away either. Texas has a deeper farm system than the Blue Jays at the moment and Boston and Cleveland could be in the bidding as well, so Garza to the Jays looks like a bit of a long shot. This is where Ricky Romero enters the picture again. If the Blue Jays consider themselves out of the post-season picture, might they give Ricky another shot at reclaiming his spot in the rotation? Sunday at Buffalo, Romero had his most dominant start yet at Triple A. He went eight innings in a 7-1 victory over the Yankees Scranton/Wilkes Barre Railriders farm cllub. Boston Red Sox Koji Uehara Jersey. He gave up just one run on four hits and struck out four. Romero had command of his fastball and threw 62 strikes. Romero is only 2-3 with the Bisons but has thrown four quality starts in a row and six of his last seven. Romero still has that very payroll-friendly contract as well. He gets $7.5 million in 2014 and again in 2015, when he will be 30 years old. In 2016, the final year of the deal, hes due to make $13.1 million but the Blue Jays hold a $600,000 buyout option on that year. So, the Jays could give Romero another shot after the all-star break or try to interest other teams in dealing for him. The Jays other option is to basically stand pat since Brandon Morrow and J.A Happ could be back within a month and Drew Hutchison and Kyle Drabek appear to be on the horizon as well, along with Luis Perez for the bullpen. This much I know; the Blue Jays wont concede theyre out of the post-season chase until the end of their 10 game home stand against the Rays, Dodgers and Astros coming out of the all-star break. That takes them to July 28, just three days before the non-waiver trade deadline at 4:00 PM Eastern on that Wednesday afternoon. If you think the Blue Jays have a tough decision with Romero, consider the Giants and Tim Lincecum. The man only enhanced his heroic and legendary status in San Francisco by no-hitting the Padres over the weekend, the first no-no of his career. But the 29-year-old Lincecum is only 5-9 on the season and over the last three years his cumulative record over the past three seasons is only 28-38. Hes also making $22 million this season and is a free agent after this year. Lincecums career accomplishments are hard to deny. Back to back Cy Young Awards in 2009 and 2010 and World Series titles in two of the last three years, and now a no-hitter. Hes got the foundation of a Hall of Fame career with an 84-65 record but the Giants, who actually have a worse record than the Blue Jays at 43-51, have to be wondering if its time to move Lincecum and start building for the future. Lincecums name could be one of the most intriguing on the open market as trade deadline day approaches. Cheap NFL Jerseys ' ' '

BUFFALO, N. Rishard Matthews Jersey .Y. -- The Buffalo Bills have given themselves room to manoeuvr while continuing whats become a weeklong shuffle of their quarterback-depleted roster. In releasing five players -- including newly acquired quarterback Thaddeus Lewis -- on Saturday, the Bills are three spots short of their 53-player roster limit entering the first week of the season. That opens the likelihood of Buffalo spending time scouring the waiver wire to add players to address its most pressing needs at quarterback and cornerback. The Bills also released veteran linebacker Bryan Scott and defensive linemen Torrell Troup, Jamie Blatnick and Izaan Cross. Lewis became the latest quarterback on the way out in Buffalo, a day after the team cut Matt Leinart and placed veteran Kevin Kolb on injured reserve because of a concussion. Lewis had spent less than a week in Buffalo, after being acquired in a trade that sent reserve linebacker Chris White to Detroit. Lewis went seven of 16 for 132 yards passing, including a 79-yard touchdown to Marcus Easley in taking over for Leinart in the second quarter of a 35-13 preseason finale loss to Detroit on Thursday. He also had a Bills-leading 51 yards rushing. Without Lewis, the Bills are left with two quarterbacks -- rookie first-round pick EJ Manuel and undrafted rookie Jeff Tuel-- on their roster in preparing to open the season against New England. Manuel has missed two weeks after hurting his left knee, and its unclear if hell be ready to play next weekend. Tuel is penciled in to start against the Patriots if Manuel is not ready. Buffalo is also short on depth at cornerback with starter Stephon Gilmore to miss the first five to seven weeks with a broken wrist. The Bills have been off since Thursdays game, and return to practice Sunday afternoon. Scott is a 10-year veteran, who spent the past six seasons playing several roles in Buffalo. The Bills were forced to cut Scott after they failed in a bid to trade him over the past two days. "Im still all smiles," Scott told The Associated Press by phone shortly after he was released. "Im so thankful to the organization for the opportunity." The move didnt entirely catch him by surprise, even though the Bills had re-signed Scott to a one-year contract before the start of free agency in March. "My only regret is we didnt get over that hump and get to the team to playoffs," said Scott, referring to Buffalos post-season drought which now stands at 13 seasons. "But Im very much in their corner." Scott, who can also play safety and special teams roles, intends to attempt to continue playing. "I know I still have a lot of gas in the tank, and still want to play," he said. Troup was Buffalos second-round pick in the 2010 draft. After appearing in 15 games, including three starts as a rookie, he played only six more in 2011 and then missed all of last season after having back surgery. Troup was finally healthy entering training camp this season, but was unable to crack a defensive front thats been improved by the off-season addition of veteran free-agent Alan Branch. But now that hes in the NHL, the Calgary Flames centre showed big improvement in that department by scoring the winner in the eighth round of a 5-4 shootout victory over the Winnipeg Jets on Monday. http://www.thepersonalityshop.net/Soccer-Country/Custom-Colombia/ . Vettel was 0.168 seconds faster than Red Bull teammate Mark Webber around the Suzuka circuit. Mercedes driver Nico Rosberg was two tenths of a second off Vettel. After a lengthy wait, persistent rain finally forced the postponement of the Nationals game against the Miami Marlins on Saturday night. The teams, and a few thousand fans, waited nearly four hours from the 7:05 scheduled start time before an announcement was made shortly before 11 p.Jonathan Bernier paying immediate dividends for Toronto, the Blue Jackets top line is firing, Nathan Gerbe, Anton Khudobin, Jakob Silverberg and more in Scott Cullens latest blog. 1. When the Toronto Maple Leafs acquired G Jonathan Bernier from the Los Angeles Kings, the immediate reaction in many circles was, why? While there was little doubt that Bernier was a highly-touted goaltending prospect who was blocked by Jonathan Quick in L.A., James Reimer was coming off a strong season, one in which his .924 save percentage played a big part in the Maple Leafs making the playoffs. With the Maple Leafs having other needs -- improving their defence and finding a top-line centre among them -- it wasnt easy to reconcile the decision to give up two inexpensive assets (Matt Frattin and Ben Scrivens) as well as cap space, in order to acquire another goaltender. That it was Bernier wasnt nearly so much the concern. Then, as the Maple Leafs brass talked about having two good goaltenders and competition bringing out the best in them, they also signed Bernier to a two-year contract extension that comes with a cap hit of $2.9-million per season. With Reimer going into the last year of his deal, at $1.8-million, it didnt take a major reach to see a bigger commitment to the new goaltender. All those misgivings aside, the early returns from Bernier have been sensational. Hes stopped 113 of 116 shots in four games, his .974 save percentage leading the league. Of course this is a crazy small sample but, given the investment the Leafs made to acquire Bernier, its heartening that hes performed well and performing well has lifted him into the lead if there is still a goaltending competition in Toronto. Playing behind a Toronto team that gives up a lot of shots -- ranking 27th with 34.8 shots against per game -- Bernier could be busy, but if hes going to be play more than 50 games for the Leafs this season, he has a chance to provide value for the Leafs and fantasy owners alike. 2. When the Columbus Blue Jackets broke camp this year, rookie Boone Jenner was slotted on the left side of the top line alongside Brandon Dubinsky and Marian Gaborik. That didnt last long, as Jenner was bumped by Cam Atkinson, and now the Blue Jackets have a rather formidable trio at the top of the depth chart. They have combined for 11 points in three games and all three have strong possession numbers early in the season, with a Corsi percentage of 54% or better. It doesnt guarantee anything, but is at least a positive indication that this line could generate chances. Gaborik isnt sneaking up on anyone. Even though hes coming off a down season, hes a three-time 40-goal scorer, a known commodity. Dubinsky was a bit of a fantasy sleeper coming into the year because he is a two-time 20-goal scorer who has also had more than 100 penalty minutes three times. With an opportunity to play big minutes in Columbus, with a scorer like Gaborik, it was feasible to see value in Dubinsky. Atkinson adds another scorer to the mix. Coming into the year, he had 16 goals and 32 points in 62 career games, but also had 49 goals in 89 AHL games and 61 goals in 81 games over his last two seasons at Boston College. Hes small, but Atkinson has shown he can put the puck in the net and looks like hes getting a nice opportunity to do so with some skilled linemates in Columbus. 3. Sticking with small Boston College snipers, Nathan Gerbe is getting a prime opportunity in Carolina, playing more than 18 minutes per game and skating on the second line with Jordan Staal and Patrick Dwyer. Gerbe was mostly an afterthought in Buffalo, topping out at 31 points in 64 games in 2010-2011 before bottoming out with 10 points in 42 games last year, but has a track record as an offensive performer. He had 94 points in 101 AHL games after scoring 115 points in 84 games over his last two years at Boston College. Of course it would be easy to dismiss Gerbes three goals in four games as a small-sample fluke, what makes it attention-worthy is that Gerbe has 21 shots on goal in those four games. His 5.25 shots per game is fifth-best in the league to this point. This isnt to suggest that Gerbe is a sure thing, but he has the opportunity and pedigree to be a productive offensive player. 4. Now, with Gerbe playing a big role, its also noteworthy that Jeff Skinner is playing a career-low 15:17 per game. All is not lost with Skinner, however, as he does have five assists and has 14 shots in four games. His 13.7 shots per 60 minutes ranks 15th in the league. (Gerbe ranks second with 17.5.) With that kind of production, Skinners role ought to increase and his scoring will follow. 5. One more note on the Hurricanes. G Anton Khudobin has stopped 47 of 50 shots in two starts, prompting some question of whether or not he could supplant Cam Ward as the starter. Khudobin does have a .934 saave percentage in 23 career NHL games, so that is enticing, but he also has a . http://www.thepersonalityshop.net/Soccer-Club/Custom-Manchester-United-FC/. 912 save percentage in 156 career AHL games, and had a .912 save percentage in the KHL during the lockout last year. Those numbers suggest that the .934 NHL mark isnt going to last. At the same time, Ward had a .917 save percentage from 2008-2009 through 2012-2013, which ranked ninth among goaltenders with at least 150 NHL games. To give up on Ward after a few games into this season would be a very quick hook. Khudobin can close the gap and the longer he plays well and Ward plays poorly, the scales will change but, right now, its hard to envision Ward getting bumped aside for a guy who is just two years younger yet has played 410 fewer NHL games. 6. Lightning C Steven Stamkos connected for a hat trick against Florida (that probably wont be the last time someone goes for three against the Panthers this year), his first three goals of the season. Since the start of the 2009-2010 season, Stamkos has 188 goals, 31 more than Alex Ovechkin, who ranks second and 57 more than Patrick Marleau, who ranks third. Stamkos and Martin St. Louis skated with Ryan Malone at even strength against the Panthers. Always worth paying attention to who rides shotgun on that line. 7. With Tim Thomas nursing a groin injury, Jacob Markstrom has a chance to reclaim the net in Florida, and he stopped all 25 shots he faced in relief of Thomas on Tuesday, but allowing 18 goals on 24 shots against Tampa Bay isnt going to re-kindle a goalie competition. 8. Much was made of the Red Wings decision to add veteran free agents Daniel Alfredsson and Stephen Weiss in the offseason, with the idea that they could form the nucleus of the second line, along with veteran winger Johan Franzen. Its early, but the returns havent been great, as the trio combined to go minus-10 against Phoenix Thursday and they have combined for a total of four points in four games. 9. Ducks RW Jakob Silfverberg arrived in SoCal with a bit of pressure, as the centrepiece of a deal that saw Bobby Ryan go to Ottawa, but hes doing his part, scoring four goals and five points in his first four games with the Ducks. Silfverberg has 16 shots on goal (4.0 per game) and is skating with Mathieu Perreault and Teemu Selanne on the Ducks second line. Those may not be ideal linemates for continued production, but Silfverberg is going to have offensive potential that makes him interesting. 10. In Vancouvers 4-1 loss to San Jose Thursday, no Canucks skater played more than...Mike Santorelli. The journeyman forward skated a career-high 23:42 against the Sharks and has been spending the bulk of his time in the high-rent district on the wing with the Sedin Twins. Santorelli, who scored a career-best 20 goals and 41 points in 82 games for Florida in 2010-2011, has four goals in five games this season. Hes scored 176 points in 214 career AHL games (59 points in 208 NHL games entering this season), so Santorelli isnt altogether unfamiliar with what he needs to do in the offensive zone. Anyone playing with the Sedins -- from Anson Carter to Trent Klatt to Taylor Pyatt to Alex Burrows and all fill-ins in between -- has some appeal, but its too soon to get excited about Santorelli. See if hes still doing this in a week or two weeks, if hes not bumped by Zack Kassian or Burrows, and then well have a better idea if Santorelli can score consistently at the NHL level. FIRST NHL GAMES David Broll, LW, Toronto - A sixth-round pick of the Leafs in 2011, Broll is a burly winger who had 54 points in 67 games with Sault Ste. Marie (OHL) last season. Hes a banger, but not a thug and got a nice opportunity to skate on a line with Joffrey Lupul and Nazem Kadri in his debut. Josh Leivo, RW, Toronto - Taken in the third round by the Leafs in 2011, Leivo is a more skilled forward, who scored 73 points in 63 OHL Games last season. He played with Dave Bolland and Mason Raymond in his first game. CHIRPING "We never start with the puck. We chased pretty much the whole night and never created very much through the neutral zone." - Jets coach Claude Noel, after Winnipeg registered 15 shots on goal in a loss to Minnesota. "I sometimes pinch myself and wonder if I need to check his birth certificate, the poise he is showing for an 18-year-old kid. He is having fun, he is bringing passion, he is bringing excitement and hes learning. He is a pretty special kid." - Flames coach Bob Hartley, on rookie C Sean Monahan. "Tough training camp, tough start ot the year. Probably could have done more work this summer." - Darryl Sutter on Kings D Slava Voynov.
