COLUMBUS – One of the big talking points of this offseason for Ohio State is who will replace Curtis Samuel.
The Buckeye H-Back <a href="http://www.dusenadup.com/paul-soliai-jersey-c-1_28.html">http://www.dusenadup.com/paul-soliai-jersey-c-1_28.html</a> recorded 171 total touches as a junior for 1,636 yards and 15 total touchdowns before he was selected by the Carolina Panthers in the second round of the NFL Draft this spring
Parris Campbell is expected to attempt to fill those shoes for the Buckeye offense in 2017, but according to receivers coach Zach Smith, the two are not the same players and OSU fans should expect them to be.
"He’s not Curtis Samuel," Smith recently said of Campbell. "And we’re not going to have another Devin (Smith) or Mike (Thomas)."
Campbell had just 13 receptions for 121 yards a year ago, a far cry from Samuel's numbers. Yet the Buckeyes elected to move him to the hybrid role.
"It was probably after the season ended," Smith explained of the decision. "It wasn’t like this mastermind, calculated plan. It was <a href="http://www.hl-sapporo.com/daeshon-hall-jersey-c-1_43.html">http://www.hl-sapporo.com/daeshon-hall-jersey-c-1_43.html</a> kind of the natural transition with guys like Terry (McLaurin) and Bin (Victor) and Austin (Mack) and Johnnie (Dixon) coming along and expecting them to develop.
"I know Parris can play outside and tomorrow I can move him back outside and he can play. So it was the natural transition to move him inside so I could utilize the personnel a little better."
The former high school running back did score his first career touchdown on a rush last season.
The fourth-year junior is also working on his hands and receiving ability, something Samuel also had to do, and the coaching staff saw an improvement over the spring.
"I think he worked really hard in the offseason," Smith said of Campbell. "I don’t know that anything clicked. He played a lot last year, but he’s performing at a more consistent level right now because of the work he put in <a href="http://www.hssmstore.com/fozzy-whittaker-jersey-c-1_4.html">Fozzy Whittaker Authentic Jersey</a> after the season for sure."
For Campbell, it will be about putting it all together. Using the running back skills from his high schools days plus his speed while also continuing to develop as a receiver is the recipe for success in 2017.
"Parris is really talented," Smith said. "He could play all three (positions), he has played all three. He definitely has some of those running back skill sets; he played in high school. He’s a big, tough kid, smart kid that’s electric. He can really go."
When Braxton Miller left for the NFL, it was hard to imagine that a former running back turned slot receiver would be able to replicate his role at H-Back. Samuel was never Miller; he was actually better.
Campbell may not be Samuel, or Miller for that matter, but the Buckeyes like what they have in Parris Campbell.

Corey Peters hated watching from the sideline as the Cardinals embarked on their thrilling 2015 season, and he felt some dreaded déjà vu on <a href="http://www.hl-sapporo.com/brenton-bersin-jersey-c-1_4.html">http://www.hl-sapporo.com/brenton-bersin-jersey-c-1_4.html</a> a walk to the training room Tuesday.
The Cardinals’ nose tackle missed all of last season with a torn Achilles suffered in training camp, and everyone held their breath again as he limped off the practice field after injuring the same foot during a pass-rushing drill. But it was good news for Peters on Thursday, when it was learned he has plantar fasciitis and not another serious injury.
“I freaked out for a second, that being the same leg as the Achilles, but it really has nothing to do with that,” said Peters, who expects to miss between two days and two weeks. “It’s just something minor. We’ll work through it and hopefully get back pretty soon.”
Peters is in the second season of a three-year, $9.15 million contract and hopes to be an important piece on the defensive line. The Cardinals like his ability to both stop the run and attack the quarterback.
Peters felt good about his performance thus far in camp and is anxious to get back on the field.
“Physically, (I was) back to 100 percent, just a little bit of rust still,” Peters said. “I’d like to get back out there in the meat of camp <a href="http://www.hssmstore.com/brenton-bersin-jersey-c-1_5.html">http://www.hssmstore.com/brenton-bersin-jersey-c-1_5.html</a> and really get some of those good run-stopping reps, that type of thing. I think we’ll have time to do that.”
TIME FOR BARKLEY, COKER TO SHINE
Carson Palmer and Drew Stanton have each had a veteran’s day off recently, which has given Matt Barkley and Jake Coker more work. They are competing for the third quarterback spot – if the Cardinals keep three – and the extra practice is critical.
“That’s their day,” coach Bruce Arians said. “Those are important reps, whenever Drew and Carson have their off day, for them to get twice the number of reps. And what do you do with them? I thought both kids, I was very pleased with both of them. Especially Matt. I thought he had some really good reads. Showed me that he has made some progress in that area. Still missed a couple of hot (reads on blitzes) but he threw the ball well.”
COACH OF THE YEAR AGAIN?
Arians has been pegged as one of the favorites to win NFL Coach of the Year in 2016. He captured the honor in 2012 by compiling a 9-3 record and leading the Colts to the playoffs as interim coach while Chuck Pagano battled leukemia.
Arians won it again with the Cardinals in 2014 when they went 11-5 despite using backup quarterbacks for all but six games. Arians was asked what a third Coach of the Year honor would mean to him.
“Not half as much as a Super Bowl,” Arians said. “It’s an honor, obviously, especially when it comes from people you respect. But it’s not something you go out looking for. It’s because your team had success. Like we always say, when the <a href="http://www.ky-oo32.com/kurt-coleman-jersey-c-1_10.html">Kurt Coleman Youth Jersey</a> team has success, there’s enough accolades for everybody.”
GOOD NEWS FOR ALANI FUA
Like Peters, inside linebacker Alani Fua (knee) breathed a sigh of relief when his injury results came back. The training staff feared a torn meniscus, but Fua said there is only loose cartilage in his knee that will sideline him four or five days.
Fua made the team as an undrafted free agent out of BYU a year ago and has a good chance of doing so again. He’s relieved because a serious ailment could have jeopardized his shot.
“Any time you get injured, being undrafted, it’s kind of scary,” Fua said.
Guard Evan Mathis (leg) and tight end Jermaine Gresham (hamstring) returned to practice Thursday. Wide receiver John Brown (head) remains out as he continues through the concussion protocol, while cornerback Mike Jenkins (hand) and wideout J.J. Nelson (groin) also sat. Wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald had a veteran’s day off.
Arians said safety Tyrann Mathieu (knee) and defensive tackle Frostee Rucker (ankle) are about two weeks away from practicing, while defensive tackle Robert Nkemdiche (ankle), cornerback Elie Bouka (hamstring) and cornerback Justin Bethel (foot) could be back sooner than that. As usual, the recovery time is fluid.
“That’s the thing with trainers,” Arians said. “We got here eight days ago and it was three weeks. It’s still three weeks to them. One of them went by. I’m saying two now.”
CARDINALS SIGN VETERAN CORNERBACK
Cornerback Alan Ball worked out for the team Thursday afternoon and was signed to a contract. He is a nine-year veteran who has <a href="http://www.ochomesnloans.com/jonathan-stewart-jersey-c-1_16.html">Jonathan Stewart Jersey</a> played for the Cowboys, Texans, Jaguars and Bears. The Cardinals released safety Tyrequek Zimmerman in a corresponding move.
The Japanese believe suffering some kind of impairment and having a history, a story to tell, augments the exquisiteness of an object. This is the reason why when they restore broken objects they glorify the impairment by filling the cracks with gold. The object then becomes more valuable as it carries in its realm a story, a lesson, a dignity that would have paled in its initial brilliance.
I wonder what we see when we perceive broken objects or effects rendered worthless with time. Do we see wasted beauty, faded glory, an imperfection in our otherwise seemingly perfect world? Or do we see a capsule in time, a joyful memory, a poignant moment?
Beauty lies in the eye of the beholder they say, however, if the eye is the window to the soul then our soul/psyche is in some way connected to the beauty we perceive around us. If our inner being is elevated, is beautiful, we will find ourselves in a plane where nothing is ugly or meaningless. Each fallen leaf will talk of sagacity and experience. A wrinkled face will be a map to known and unknown destinations.
A torn page will be a part of a story that has fed the imagination of generations. A puddle of water will be a celebration of rain and a rough terrain will be an opportunity to experience new vistas. Our perception changes it all.
Still waters run deep. Appearances can be misleading and our attachment to them will make us live shallow lives. To find depth and meaning we need to look beyond exteriors. When we find extraordinary in the things that seem conventional we live unusual lives. The splendour we determine around us percolates into our own lives and we find beauty inside us, in our very existence. This then starts a benevolent circle that energises the heart and minds and helps us create exquisiteness in and around us. An anonymous writer says "The way to love someone is to lightly run your fingers over that person's soul until you find a crack, and then gently pour your love into that crack."
Next time you see impairment, don't turn away from it. Instead see the beauty, the story, the wisdom and the wonder it hides in its crevices.Read more at:black evening dress | evening wear
