Mack Brown denied a report issued Tuesday that he will be stepping down at Texas, though the embattled head football coachs future with the Longhorns remains swirled in uncertainty. The website Orangebloods.com reported that Brown, whose job security has been a heavy topic of speculation over the past few months, will announce his resignation by the end of the week. When contacted by website Horns247.com later in the day, Brown responded that he is currently on a recruiting trip and has not decided to leave his post. "Im in Florida recruiting," Brown said in the message. "If I had decided to step down I sure wouldnt be killing myself down here. I have not decided to step down." Sources also told Horns247.com that the university is expected to make a decision on Browns job status within the next 48 hours. ESPN reported that Browns fate will likely be tied to a meeting of the universitys Board of Regents scheduled for Thursday, during which the future of Texas president Bill Powers is also to be discussed. Powers has been an ardent supporter of Brown during his eight-year tenure at the school. According to Orangebloods.com, Brown is expected to formally resign at Texas football banquet on Friday, with the event to serve as a celebration of his accomplishments during his 16 years with the Longhorns program. The site indicated that Brown will coach the team in the Dec. 30 Alamo Bowl, where Texas will face Oregon in San Antonio. Brown, who is under contract through 2020, will reportedly receive a $2.75 million buyout and be reassigned to an advisory role in the UT presidents office over the remainder of his pact. Taking over a floundering Texas program prior to the 1998 season, Brown restored the Longhorns back to national prominence by stringing together nine consecutive campaigns of double-digit wins from 2001-09. The highlight of that period came during the 2005 season, when the Longhorns capped a 13-0 performance with a victory over USC in the BCS Championship Game. Brown also took the Longhorns to the national title game in 2009, but the program has been in decline since. Texas has gone just 30-20 over the past four seasons and finished in the national rankings in just one of those years. Texas lost two of its first three games of this season, but rebounded to go 7-1 in Big 12 play prior to Saturdays 30-10 loss to league champion Baylor. Browns 158 wins at Texas are the second-most in school history, surpassed only by Hall of Famer Darrell Royals 167. LOUIS -- Lance Lynn was one of the more enthusiastic participants as the St.The Vancouver Canucks, who struggled into the Olympic break, will try to restart their season on a positive note as they host The St. Louis Blues The Canucks may have needed the break more than any team as they went into the hiatus having lost seven in a row, including a winless five-game road trip to close out the pre-Olympic schedule. Vancouver has lost seven in a row in regulation for the first time since Dec. 26-Jan. 6 during the 1998-99 campaign and is on its longest skid of any kind since going 0-5-3 from Jan. 9-31, 2009. The Canucks have 63 points on the season, one back of Phoenix and Dallas for the second wild card spot in the Western Conference. The break did allow Henrik Sedin some additional time to heal from a rib injury that has held him to just two games since Jan. 18 and caused him to sit out the Olympics. "Henrik is landing this morning," head coach John Tortorella told reporters on Wednesday morning. "We hope hell play tonight." However, forward Ryan Kesler wont play tonight due to a hand injury suffered while blocking a shot for Team USA on Feb. 15. He did not miss time during the Olympics, but had an MRI on Monday and is day-to-day. Vancouver recalled center Kellan Lain from the American Hockey League on Monday. Eddie Lack will get the start in goal. Regardless, the Canucks will look to get on track while playing their next three as the home team. That includes March 2 in the Heritage Classic versus Ottawa to be played at BC Place, which features a retractable roof. The Canucks have won two prior meetings with the Blues this season and are 5-0-2 in the last seven encounters overall. Vancouver also is 3-0-1 in its past four versus St. Louis at home. T.J. Oshie had one of the more memorable experiences during the Winter Olympics, even if the American was unable to get his country a medal. Oshie was part of a Team USA squad that failed to medal in Sochi, though the 27-year-old was briefly the talk of the Olympics after he scored four times during an eight-round shootout to help lift the U.ddddddddddddS. to a win over Russia during group play. The forward became a media sensation and U.S. hero for his clutch performance, though he fizzled out like the rest of Team USA, which failed to beat Canada in the semifinals before falling in defeat to Finland in the bronze medal game. "It was pretty crazy after that shootout. Its all a little bitter now that we get back and have nothing to show for it, but it was a pretty cool couple of days after that seeing some of my family on some major TV shows and stuff like that," said Oshie. The Blues do return a number of players who collected medals in Sochi, including gold medal-winning defensemen Alex Pietrangelo and Jay Bouwmeester of Team Canada as well as forwards Alexander Steen and Patrik Berglund, who picked up silver with Sweden. Steen continued his solid campaign that has seen him score a career-high 28 goals through just 46 games on the season. St. Louis comes out of the break having gone 3-0-1 in its previous four while winning seven of its last 10. The Blues are even with the idle Chicago Blackhawks for the top spot in the Central standings with 84 points, three behind the Anaheim Ducks for the most in the NHL. The Blues play their next three on the road looking to maintain that success, something Oshie believes his club can do. "I think so. Weve got some guys coming off some pretty big highs, getting a gold and silver medal, and weve got some other guys like myself and (forward David) Backes that are fired up we didnt get anything," Oshie said. "I feel like after big losses like that, it inspires you to work harder. Its always easy coming back to this group of guys." The Bucs (4-9) beat the struggling Buffalo Bills 27-6 Sunday for their fourth win in five games following an 0-8 start that placed Schianos future in jeopardy. "We just dont quit, and that all starts with our head coach. Thats how he is," defensive tackle Gerald McCoy said. "Hes very consistent with his effort, and nothing really changes with how he prepares and how he comes to work every day that makes you want to work harder for that guy." Bobby Rainey scored on an 80-yard run on the second play of the game, Mike Glennon threw two touchdowns, and the McCoy-led defence forced five turnovers and sacked EJ Manuel seven times. "Our preparation is the same. Were just finishing games," McCoy said. "Were making the plays that we werent making before." The Bills have lost five of six, are assured of finishing without a winning record for the ninth straight year, and also are in danger of extending the NFLs longest current playoff drought to 14 consecutive seasons. Bills coach Doug Marrone held a team meeting after the game. "I find it very difficult after that game to stand up here and defend a lot of things," Marrone said. "I thought we played poorly. Actually, I shouldnt say I thought, I know we played poorly in all three phases," the coach added. "We had penalties. We had turnovers. We had misreads. We had missed tackles. We had things go wrong for us that there have been times during the year where weve been making improvement on it." Glennon wasnt exactly sensational coming off a 27-6 loss at Carolina, going 9 of 25 for 90 yards. But he had TD throws of 5 yards to Tim Wright and 38 to Vincent Jackson, who had three receptions for 70 yards to go over 1,000 for the season for the second straight year. Rainey finished with 127 yards on 22 carries. Buffalo, meanwhile, took up where it left off in a 34-31 overtime loss to Atlanta. The Bills lost fumbles on their final two possessions of that game, Stevie Johnson in the final minute of the fourth quarter and Scott Chandler two plays into OTT.dddddddddddd This Sunday, they turned it over three times within a four-possession span of the second quarter, a stretch that might have been game-changing if Glennon hadnt thrown two interceptions. "We just have to figure out whats going on with this team," said Manuel, the first-round draft pick out of Florida State who doubled his interception total for the season. "I think we really have to find our identity," the rookie added, " We have three games left, we really need to finish strong moving on into the off-season and things like that." After outgaining the Bills 169 yards to 38 while building a 14-3 lead in the first quarter, the Bucs were limited to 77 net yards the rest of the way to finish with 246. It didnt matter. With Manuel throwing two interceptions in the second quarter and two more in the third, the Bills never made a serious move to get back in the game, finishing with field goals of 40 and 46 yards by Dan Carpenter. Manuel hit C.J. Spiller on an 83-yard scoring play that was wiped out by a fourth-quarter holding penalty. Leodis McKelvin muffed a fair catch on a punt inside the Buffalo 20, and a roughing-the-passer penalty -- albeit a borderline call -- against Jairus Byrd helped set up Glennons TD pass to Wright that extended Tampa Bays lead to 24-3 at the half. Byrd also had the 22nd interception of his career, moving him into a tie for 10th on Buffalos all-time list. Stephon Gilmores pick six minutes later prevented Tampa Bay from turning McKelvins muff into points. Linebacker Lavonte David had two of Tampa Bays four interceptions. He also had a sack. "Were playing really good football right now, and it all starts with our defence, with how many turnovers theyre forcing," Glennon said. "With the way our defence was playing, we did what we needed to do as an offence, and they did the rest. Its nice to see the second half of the season were 4-1." Notes: Raineys TD came 18 seconds into the game, the fastest score in Bucs history. ... Chandler had two catches for 24 yards, becoming the first Bills TE with consecutive 500-yard receiving seasons. ... David has an interception in Tampa Bays past three games. OTTAWA -- The Western Mustangs remained on top of the Canadian Interuniversity Sport football rankings for a third straight week Tuesday. Western (7-0) earned 20 first-place votes and 290 points in the Football Reporters of Canada poll. The reigning Vanier Cup champion Laval Rouge et Or (6-0) were second with 10 first-place votes and 280 points. The Calgary Dinos (6-0) were third in the unchanged top 10 after a limited CIS schedule last week. Guelph, Queens and McMaster were the only top-10 squads in action and all registered convincing road wins. The Gryphons defeated Carleton 48-12, the Gaels crushed Waterloo 78-21 and the Marauders beat Laurier 28-5. Guelph (7-0) is ranked fourth and Queens (6-1) is fifth. The top 10 is rounded out by the Montreal Carabins (4-2), Saskatchewan Huskies (4-2), Bishops Gaiters (4-2), McMaster (4-3) and the Windsor Lancers (4-3). Tests earlier this week revealed a Grade 2 left hamstring strain for Sabathia, who was hurt in last Fridays start against San Francisco. Its an injury that will require about eight weeks to heal. He finished a disappointing campaign just 14-13 with a career-worst 4.You knew it was going to catch up to them but you just didnt know when. Im relating the reality of the slow starts in games by the Toronto Argonauts and how it had to stop as you cant always depend on fourth quarter comebacks and game-winning drives. The Argos have had an excellent year. At 9-4, they control the East and, unless they implode, should have the East Final at home. Thats a major advantage but they need Ricky Ray back. Zack Collaros has been entertaining and exciting and has established himself as a player in this league. But he is not Ricky Ray. Henry Burris completed his first seven passes and created an early lead. As important as it is to have come-from-behind skills, it is just as important to have create-a-lead skills and Ray has both. Getting a team ready to play is a process and takes a week. Why the Argos dont begin games better is a mystery but I do know what it takes: perfect preparation, emotional intensity and the combination of the two creates a unique and genuine level of focus. But the key factor is it has to be everybody; not just the starters but all 42 that dress for the game. In some ways, when the ball is kicked off, the vast majority of the work for coaches is over. But for the player, the important part has begun; seeing if your preparation and emotional intensity which creates your focus is there. This is by no means heavy psychological stuff, quite the opposite. It is easy to master if youre aware and make the effort over and over again. The Argos are a very good team that can be great if they would start games fast and hard and finish the same way. In Saskatchewan, it is a brand new season. The 31-17 win over the B.C. Lions breaks a four-game losing cycle and makes those four games complete history. And what is even more important is that it puts the Riders in second place and re-energizes the fact they still can host the 101st Grey Cup at home come November 24th. Im not sure about the trade. Patrick Neufeld is going to have a long career in CFL football but Alex Hall could be gone by next season. I know in other sports you "rent a player&quoot; for a block of time and it works but I am not sure it works in football.dddddddddddd One is Canadian, one is American. There are countless football players of quality in the United States. In Canada, sometimes I think I can count them. I realize offensive line depth is a strength for Saskatchewan but Im still not sure who will win this deal as time moves on. The last two games on Saturday were painful to watch. Montreal took apart the Eskimos and Calgary did the same to the Blue Bombers. On the positive side, Mike Reilly played, survived and will play again. Im happy about that because the Montreal defence is intimidating. To me, Kyries Herbert and Chip Cox are the best two defensive players on the field at the same time on any team. You add Shea Emry and an excellent player in Mike Edem and the Alouettes can steal playoff games because of the hitting ability on that side of the field alone. The Calgary Stampeder are a complete team. In just about ever aspect of football, Calgary is as good or better than any team. One of their least recognized performers is kicker Rene Paredes. He has made almost every field goal that you can make and by doing so, either wins the close games or keeps the games close. You cant underrate his value. Lets be honest, with four games left in the regular season, Winnipeg and Edmonton are building for 2014. I realize it is not over until its over mathematically but the lack of energy expressed by both teams on Saturday was distressing. Not all players but for some, it came accross as a practice game, not a regular season battle. With four games left, teams are looking to host at least one game at home in the playoffs. During the regular season, home field is not as big an advantage as you might think. It is an advantage, but in an eight-team league, its not always a game-changer. In the playoffs? Oh yes! In the West, first place is no guarantee but the energy of playing at home in the Semi-Final, Final or Grey Cup Game is a feeling you never forget. The next four games mean everything to give yourself the best possible chance to win it all. DUNEDIN, Florida – The Blue Jays dropped to 3-2 in Grapefruit League action following an 8-2 loss to the Yankees at Florida Auto Exchange Stadium on Sunday. Right-hander Todd Redmond took the loss. Jose Bautista hit his second home run of the spring. Here are a handful of tidbits from around camp: Hutchison impressive The Blue Jays are being cautious when talking about their young arms but internally, excitement is building over the way Drew Hutchison is looking and performing this spring. Hutchison is among those looking to secure an available spot in the starting rotation. According to the official radar gun at Ed Smith Stadium in Sarasota, Drew Hutchisons four-seam fastball topped out at 94 miles per hour during Saturdays start against the Orioles. The Blue Jays have different, even more encouraging information. Scouts had readings as high as 96 miles per hour. Hutchison, as is his custom when hes on his game, was locating his pitches and working the corners of the plate. Hutchison threw two innings, didnt allow a run, gave up one hit and struck out four. He threw 38 pitches, 25 for strikes. Anthopoulos looking to deal The Blue Jays have an abundance of bullpen arms and general manager Alex Anthopoulos continues to dangle some of that pitching depth in an effort to upgrade the ballclub. Toronto is looking for starting pitching help, which may be found internally (see above on Hutchison,) and an established right-handed bat off the bench. Sergio Santos, who was almost traded during the offseason, is a name that continues to come up in discussions. Seitzer thrilled with early returns New hitting coach Kevin Seitzer isnt just encouraged by the Blue Jays offensive start to spring training, hes thrilled. "I get goosebumps right now thinking about it," said Seitzer. "Getting timing in games is very, very difficult for hitters to do, especially early in camp. The quality of at-bats, the takes, the lack of panic, the plan, the approach, I couldnt be more pleased. They have been professionals every single day in their early work, batting practice routines. I havent heard one person complain about anything at all from an offensive standpoint." While Brett Lawrie has missed the last two games due to hamstring tightness, hes impressed Seitzer early with his gap-to-gap approach. The two continue to work on limiting Lawries movement in the batters box, including lessening Lawries hand waggle. "Were eating this elephant one bite at a time and my focus is opening day to where hes dialing in," said Seitzer. "But where he continues to try and do it, quieting down, keep those hands still when hes loading, hes getting results. He took 96 mph the other way the other day on that lefty who had a good fastball and it was middle in. He didnt panic, he didnt force it, he didnt jerk, all he did was stay short and stay inside and he smoked a ball past first. The opposite field doubles hes hit driving the ball the other way, he told me right out of the gate that was his focus the last month and a half when he started to have some success." By the time he first met the media in January, during the winter caravan, second baseman Ryan Goins had taken Seitzer up on an open invitation to visit his home in Kansas City. It was an opportunity for the two to become acquainted and lay a foundation for the work theyre doing this spring. Seitzer believes Goins could be a .270 or .280 hitter in the big leagues, suggesting he has the mental acumen to develop into a .300 hitter. "I dont like dropping ceilings on guys because you just never know," said Seitzer. "You never know how hes going to be able to handle big-league pitching on a daily basis and be able to make the adjustments that he needs to make. But so far, everything Ive seen has been very good, very positive, that hes going to be able to make those adjustments that he needs to make. But that remains to be seen, theres been a lot of hitters that Ive worked with that are really good in the cage, in batting practice but then putting it into the game is the last big challenge. But I think mentally and emotionally, hes tough enough to have the discipline to be able to do that everyday." Janssen sore Casey Janssen is dealing with stiffness in his pitching shoulder, which has prevented him from maintaining a normal spring schedule, including regular bullpen sessions and appearances in Grapefruit League games. "I think its just the inflammation," said Janssen. "Its going to subside. Just take a couple of days off and get right back on and start throwing again." Janssen underwent an MRI, which revealed inflammation in the back of his shoulder, where the decelerator muscles are located. Last spring and for most of last season, Janssen was hampered by soreness in his rotator cuff, the result of surgery he had in the 2012-2013 offseason. "It always sucks but I think I know how to get ready," he said. "I was looking forward to a normal spring, coming with all the guys and thats what I was expecting but unfortunately, I havent been in a game yet and all the other stuff but Ill get there. Eyes are on opening day like they always were." Janssen wont pick up a baseball for at least two more days. Hell attempt to play long toss and if his shoulder reacts positively, hell progress to bullpen sessions and then work his way into games. Rasmus Scratched Colby Rasmus was in manager John Gibbons Sunday lineup but removed himself due to a stiff neck. "I just woke up on the wrong side of the bed this morning," said Rasmus. "Got a little crink in my neck. Just one of those things, after throwing and warming up, I just feel like I need to take myself out just as a precaution. In a couple of days, I should be fine." Clubs typically travel skeleton rosters to far away places and so its likely Rasmus wasnt going to play on Monday in Fort Myers, against the Twins, anyway. He hopes to return on Tuesday. "Normally you throw some hot sauce on there and go about your business," said Rasmus. "It just kind of locked up a little tighter." Yankees almost smoked out The Yankees briefly considered evacuating the visitors clubhouse before Sundays game at Florida Auto Exchange Stadium when smoke from an over-heated dryer began to waft into the locker room. The matter was quickly brought under control. Perez and Ohka reassigned Left-hander Juan Perez and right-hander Tomo Ohka, whos making a comeback attempt as a knuckleball pitcher, have been reassigned to minor league camp. The Blue Jays now have 58 players remaining in major league camp. CLEVELAND -- The Dallas Mavericks spent most of Monday afternoon playing as if they had a point to prove. They spent the final minutes barely hanging on for a narrow victory. The Mavericks squandered nearly all of a 24-point lead before finally subduing the Cleveland Cavaliers for a 102-97 win. What appeared to be an easy day turned into a white-knuckler for Dallas coach Rick Carlisle, whose team bounced back from its worst performance of the season in a home loss to Portland on Saturday. "We did a good job of holding them off at the end," Carlisle said. "We got it done. Thats the bottom line." Monta Ellis scored 22 points, Shawn Marion added 18 and the Mavericks had six players in double figures, but the game was in doubt until the final seconds. Trailing 100-97 with 2.8 seconds remaining, the Cavaliers were called for a five-second violation when Jarrett Jack failed to get the ball inbounds. Ellis put the game away with two free throws with 1.1 seconds left. Carlisle called Saturdays loss, in which the Mavericks trailed by 38 points early in the fourth quarter, "beyond embarrassing." And while Mondays game had too much drama, Carlisle was happy to get out of town with a win. "Its the NBA," he said "Its supposed to get hairy." "This was a big bounce-back win from an embarrassing loss the other day," Ellis said. "Well be a great team if we continue to play like that with our back against the wall when we face adversity." Kyrie Irving led Cleveland with 26 points. Luol Deng, acquired from Chicago on Jan. 7, scored 20 points in his first home game with the Cavaliers while Anderson Varejao had 18 points with 21 rebounds. Dirk Nowitzki scored 17 points and DeJuan Blair added 13 for the Mavericks. Dallas built a 59-35 lead late in the second quarter and maintained a double-figure lead for most of the second half before the Cavaliers rallied. Cleveland cut the lead into single figures early in the fourth quarter. The Cavaliers got the lead to 91-89 on Dengs 3-pointer, but Irving missed a jumper and a 3-point attempt on the same possession when Cleveland had a chance to tie or take the lead. A basket and two free throws by Ellis followed by Marions steal and score pushed the lead to 97-90 with 1:35 to play. Cleveland cut the lead to 98-95, but two free throws by Jose Calderon with 11.1 seconds remaining pushed the lead to five. Varejaos basket with 5.7 left made it 100-97. Ellis missed two free throws with 2.8 seconds left and gave Cleveland one last chance. The Cavaliers called timeout, but Carlisle put 6-foot-10 centre Brandan Wright on Jack, who couldnt get off the pass on a play that was designed to get Irving the ball. Cavaliers coach Mike Brown thought Irving was open in the far corner on the other side of the floor. "I dont know if weve ever been that wide open before at the end of games on a situation like that," he said. "Jack just couldnt see him." "It was going to be a tough pass," Irving said. "It was a crucial turnover. Whether I was open or not doesnt matter. We have to move on and get ready for our next game." The Cavaliers went 3-2 on a road trip to the west coast but struggled in the first game of five straight at home. Cleveland led briefly in the first quarter, but Dallas used a 9-0 run late in the first quarter to break a 21-all tie. Dallas shot 55 per cent from the field in the first half. Marion and Blair both made all five of their shots in the first half. Marion scored 14 points while Blair had 11. Marion made his first shot of the third quarter before finally missing a 3-point attempt from the corner. He scored three points and made only one of six shots against Portland. Blair missed his first shot attempt in the third quarter and was hit with a technical later in the period after being called for a foul while trying to grab a rebound. Irving scored 18 points in the second half. Deng, a two-time All-Star, will face the Bulls for the first time since the trade on Wednesday. Cleveland is 3-3 with Deng in the lineup. The Mavericks bench outscored Cleveland 33-8. Dion Waiters, who averages 14.8 points, was scoreless in 17 minutes for Cleveland. Mavericks centre Samuel Dalembert left the game early in the third quarter with a strained left shoulder. He was taken to the locker room and didnt return. NOTES: Cavaliers F Anthony Bennett, the No. 1 pick in the 2013 draft, didnt play for the fourth straight game. ... Cleveland Indians manager Terry Francona watched the game seated next to Mavericks owner Mark Cuban behind Dallas bench. ... The Mavericks are 11-4 against Eastern Conference teams this season. Seven of their 11 games before the All-Star break are against the East, including the next three versus Toronto, Brooklyn and Detroit. ... G Devin Harris was scoreless in his second game of the season for Dallas. He made his season debut Saturday after missing the first 41 games because of surgery on his left foot. The Gaiters entered the game ranked 10th among CIS teams and is likely to climb when the rankings are updated. They started strong against visiting Concordia, with Matthew Burke scoring on a six-yard run just 45 seconds into the game. The touchdown was set up by Heathers 89-yard pass to Alexander Fox on the first play of the game. Heather and Fox hooked up again later in the first, with Fox hauling in a 17-yard touchdown pass at the 7:37 mark. Ryon McCallas one-yard TD plunge at 12:46 of the second, then a safety and a pair of field goals from Mathieu Paquette put the Gaiters up 29-0 at the half. Bishops quickly took the momentum back, with Stephen Adekolus 38-yard TD reception and another Paquette field goal putting the Gaiters up 40-7 after three quarters. Concordia chipped away at the lead in the fourth with a pair of safeties and a 12-yard touchdown run by Dessureault, but it was far to little to overcome the large deficit they faced. ASHBURN, Va. -- Donte Stallworth was cut Monday by the Washington Redskins, thwarting the veteran receivers comeback. Stallworth was hindered through most of training camp by a hamstring injury. He caught two passes for 33 yards in preseason games. "You could see with the setback with his hamstring, he just wasnt ready," coach Mike Shanahan said. The 32-year-old player signed with the Redskins in June, three months after he was seriously burned in a hot air balloon accident in Florida. He faced a tough challenge making a roster that already includes Pierre Garcon, Joshua Morgan, Santana Moss and Leonard Hankerson. Stallworth has played for six teams over 10 NFL seasons. He missed the 2009 season when he was suspended by the NFL after pleading guilty to killing a pedestrian while driving drunk. He appeared in only one game last year with the New England Patriots before an ankle injury ended his season. "I thought in his best interest, since I knew he wasnt going to be on the football team, was to tell him early," Shanahan said. "Give him a chance, possibly, to get with another football team." The Redskins also waived linebacker Ricky Elmore, fullback Eric Kettani, kicker John Potter, receiver Chip Reeves and linebacker Quan Sturdivant. Cornerback and punt returner Richard Crawford, who damaged three ligaments in his left knee in Saturdays preseason game, and linebacker Jeremy Kimbrough (right shoulder) were waived with injury designations. Shanahan said Monday that Crawford will require nine months of recovery. Rookie safety Phillip Thomas (left foot) and linebacker Keenan Robinson (left shoulder) were placed on injured reserve. The Redskins have three more cuts to announce before Tuesdays deadline to reduce the roster to 75. They are expected to be tackle Jeremy Trueblood, linebacker Roddrick Muckelroy and offensive lineman Jacolby Ashworth. None was at Mondays practice. LONDON -- England defender Kyle Walker will not face any disciplinary action after he was pictured inhaling nitrous oxide, a substance commonly known as laughing gas, on a night out during the off-season. Images published in the Sunday Mirror newspaper appeared to show the Tottenham right back sucking the gas through a balloon in a nightclub. Nitrous oxide isnt illegal but can cause long-term health damage. Walker apologized on Twitter on Sunday, saying: "Now I know the health risks, it was poor judgement on my part." The Football Association said Monday that it had spoken to Walker about the matter, which took place in June, and that "he has asssured us it will not happen again.dddddddddddd" "Inhaling nitrous oxide is not illegal, but we recognize the associated dangers," the FA said in a statement. "Kyle has accepted this mistake. He will not face any action under the England Player Code of Conduct." England coach Roy Hodgson confirmed Monday that Walker, who has played seven times for his country, will start in the World Cup qualifier against Ukraine in Kyiv on Tuesday. "He has made his apology, admitted his mistake but it was a long time ago, hed forgotten it," Hodgson said. "It would have been much worse had it happened this weekend." Mack Brown denied a report issued Tuesday that he will be stepping down at Texas, though the embattled head football coachs future with the Longhorns remains swirled in uncertainty. Its always easy coming back to this group of guys." The Bills have lost five of six, are assured of finishing without a winning record for the ninth straight year, and also are in danger of extending the NFLs longest current playoff drought to 14 consecutive seasons.
