The Oakland Raiders offense has <a href="http://www.teamcardinalsprostore.com/shop-best-quality-cheap-chandler-jones-55-jersey.html">http://www.teamcardinalsprostore.com/shop-best-quality-cheap-chandler-jones-55-jersey.html</a> acquired some new faces during the free agency period, from tight end Jared Cook to wide receiver Cordarrelle Patterson, the team has loaded up on that side of the ball. While the offense has benefitted from free agency, the defense just received a new face as well. Linebacker Jelani Jenkins is the newest addition to the Silver and Black and will be joining the team after four seasons with the Miami Dolphins.

Here’s five things you should know about the team’s most recent acquisition.

Born in Rockville, Md., the 25-year-old attended Our Lady of Good Counsel High School in Olney, Md., where he played both track and <a href="http://www.00fenrir.com/wholesale-nfl-san-francisco-49ers-cheap-carlos-hyde-jerseys.html">http://www.00fenrir.com/wholesale-nfl-san-francisco-49ers-cheap-carlos-hyde-jerseys.html</a> football. In football, Jenkins split time at fullback and linebacker, but was recruited out of high school as a linebacker. Among those to recruit him was none other than the Silver and Black’s defensive coordinator Ken Norton, Jr., who tried to convince Jenkins to commit to the University of Southern California where he was the linebackers coach. At that point in time, the pair weren’t meant to join forces, as he ended up committing to the University of Florida, but now the two will work side by side as they try to help the Raiders succeed.

Not only do Jenkins and Norton share a <a href="http://www.authenticseahawksproshop.com/shop-nfl-seattle-seahawks-cheap-89-doug-baldwin-jerseys.html">Doug Baldwin Youth Jersey</a> connection on the football field, but the fifth-year player remembers watching boxing matches of Ken Norton, Sr., growing up. Jenkins’ father got him hooked on the sport at a young age, and spent a majority of his time watching Muhammad Ali documentaries and old matches. Norton’s father duked it out in the ring with Ali on three separate occasions, and Jenkins remembers watching old highlights from the fights.

The fact the 6-foot, 240-pounder played two sports in high school isn’t shocking, considering his mom played basketball at Howard University, and is a specialized black belt in karate. Make sense that the Raiders linebacker would have some athletic juices flowing through his veins.

In high school, Jenkins participated in the 100-meter dash, and threw the discus as well. When Jenkins was invited to the combine, he finished the 225-pound bench press drill towards the top of his class. He was a top performer at the <a href="http://www.bedava100.com/buy-nfl-arizona-cardinals-cheap-3-carson-palmer-jerseys.html">Carson Palmer Youth Jersey</a> combine putting up 27 reps and has been referred to as a “dynamic athlete.”

During his first four years in the NFL, Jenkins totaled 227 tackles, 3.5 sacks, three forced fumbles, and appeared in 53 games. The linebacker will now team up with linebacker Bruce Irvin and defensive end Khalil Mack as they get ready for the 2017 season.

TORONTO - DeMar DeRozan hopes to expand his skill set on the court this season. Cheap Nike Air Max 95 Trainers .DeRozan reached a career-high 11 rebounds and added six steals to go along with 15 points for his fourth career double-double on Wednesday to help the Toronto Raptors to an opening night 109-102 victory over the Atlanta Hawks.Thats my job. Im trying not to be just a scorer, said DeRozan, who went 4 of 16 from the field. Got to understand when were not making shots, not just myself, we all got to figure out other ways to impact the game in a big way. That was what I was trying to do.DeRozan also went 7-for-10 from the free-throw line, including a memorable sequence late in the fourth quarter. After missing back-to-back free throws with 33 seconds remaining, DeRozan grabbed his own rebound and drew another foul. He then hit both shots to give Toronto a 107-101 lead.It wont happen again, wont happen again, DeRozan promised of the back-to-back late misses. Luckily I got the rebound.According to Raptors coach Dwane Casey, contributing anyway possible is something that is often talked about.DeMar didnt have a great shooting night, but he found another way to contribute, which was on the boards, which was big time, said Casey. Thats what we preach all the time, your shots may not be falling, but you got to find another way to contribute to a win and he did that.Casey said his teams ability to adapt to a poor shooting night shows the growth of his team.Theres other ways to win other than looking at the shooting stats, he said. A lot of times a young team will look at that and start panicking and play even worse offence. We didnt. We allowed the game to come to us and continue to compete, continue to play even though our shots werent falling.Guard Kyle Lowry, who went just 3-of-11 from the field to finish with 11 points, added that it was a team win. Were a team, were a complete team, he said. Me and DeMar, we didnt play as well offensively, but we did other things to try and help the team win.Greivis (Vasquez) played well, big fella (Jonas Valanciunas) played well, Amir (Johnson) played well — everyone filled in and filled in a role.On a night when the starters struggled from the field, Vasquez went 5-of-11 for 12 points off the bench while Patrick Patterson went 4-of-9 for 10 points.Theyre coming, its not there yet, guys are still trying to find their way, said Casey of his bench chemistry. Theres going to be nights that Lou Williams is going to be huge, theres going to be nights where James Johnson is going to be huge.Theres going to be nights where its Greivis night — thats just the way our roster is built right now. "I felt in control, so that was nice," MacIntyre said.MIAMI -- Michael Beasleys NBA career got started in Miami, and now the Heat are hoping it can be revived in Miami. The troubled forward is back with the Heat, signing a contract on Wednesday that will give him another chance to prove he belongs in the NBA. He was bought out earlier this month by the Phoenix Suns, not long after the No. 2 pick in the 2008 draft was arrested in Arizona on charges of felony marijuana possession and possession of drug paraphernalia. "Michael had the best years of his career with us," Heat President Pat Riley said. "We feel that he can help us." Yahoo Sports reported on Saturday that the Heat were interested in bringing Beasley back, and the team quickly and emphatically denied that a reunion was in the cards. Four days later, the deal was done, and Beasley will be in training camp with the two-time defending NBA champions on Oct. 1. It took some doing on Beasleys side to make the Heat offer become reality. A person familiar with the situation told The Associated Press that the team initially had no interest in bringing Beasley back, then was swayed after the former Kansas State star offered to accept a nonguaranteed contract. Thats what it took for the Heat to decide on Wednesday that they would "give him a shot," said the person, who spoke on condition of anonymity because neither side had released specific details of the talks. "Well well well the homie is back," Heat guard Mario Chalmers, who was particularly close with Beasley, wrote on Twitter. "I want every heat fan to welcome back my brotha ... aka mr buckets back to Miami. We focused" Beasley was traded by Miami to Minnesota in July 2010, part of the sweeping moves that allowed the Heat the financial flexibility to re-sign Dwyane Wade and Udonis Haslem, plus land Chris Bosh and LeBron James. So there is a certain irony in that, as the NBA heads into whats expected to be another wild free-agent summer in 2014 -- with James, Wade and Bosh among those who could be choosing new homes -- Beasley is back in Miami and tasked with helping the Heat win a third straight title. Nike Air Max 95 Sale. "We felt Michael had two very good years in Miami," Riley said when the Heat traded Beasley to Minnesota for draft picks. "We feel he will have a very productive career." It hasnt exactly worked out as planned. Beasley averaged a career-best 19.2 points in his first season in Minnesota, then saw his numbers and productivity plummet since. In the last two seasons, one largely as a reserve with the Timberwolves and then this past season as a part-time starter in Phoenix, Beasley has averaged 10.7 points on 42 per cent shooting. In his two Miami seasons, Beasley played in 87 Heat wins. In the three seasons since, hes been part of 57 wins. And then theres the off-court matters, which have always dogged Beasley, even predating his first NBA game. The Suns bought Beasley out for $7 million and said that they needed to "demand the highest standards of personal and professional conduct as we develop a championship culture." In June 2011, Beasley was ticketed for marijuana possession and speeding in a Minneapolis suburb. He has acknowledged that while he was with the Heat, he twice violated the NBAs drug policy and entered a treatment facility in 2009. Hes the latest entry in the low-risk, potentially high-reward moves the Heat have made in the past year, first signing Chris Andersen this past January and seeing him become an important part of the rotation on the way to the second straight title. Miami also signed Greg Oden to a veterans minimum deal this summer, the same sort of deal that Beasley is getting from the club. With James, Wade, Oden, Beasley, Bosh, Shane Battier and Ray Allen, the Heat now have seven players on their roster who were selected No. 6 or higher in their respective NBA draft classes. Melbourne, Australia (SportsNetwork. Ryan Switzer Cowboys Jersey .com) - Andreas Seppi knew he couldnt relax. Up two sets against Roger Federer, the 30-year-old Italian was eying a big upset but remained wary of the opponent on the other side of the net. Its never comfortable playing Roger, Seppi said in an on-court interview with a TV reporter. He should know. Seppi lost his first 10 matches against Federer before finally finding the all-time greats number in a monster upset on one of tennis biggest stages. Seppi handed the second-seeded former world No. 1 Federer his earliest exit at the Australian Open in 14 years, gutting out a four-set win in the third round on Friday that took three hours to complete and ended with one of the unheralded Italians best shots on match point in a fourth-set tiebreak. Following a hard serve, Seppi found himself in no mans land on Federers return but got the ball back. It drew Federer to the net, but Seppi was able to track the next shot down in the corner, looping a forehand over Federer and down the line for a winner. It finished off a 6-4, 7-6 (7-5), 4-6, 7-6 (7-5) win that ended Federers run of 11 consecutive semifinal appearances at the seasons first Grand Slam event. To beat Roger first time, especially in a Grand Slam, best-of-five, is a special moment for me, said Seppi. Of course, at the beginning, I just went on the court to enjoy the match and to play my best tennis. I was pretty calm. I have to say, from the beginning [and] also in the important moments. Federer hadnt lost this early at the Aussie Open since he was also ousted in the third round way back in 2001. [It was] just a bad day, admitted Federer. I wish I could have played better, but clearly it was tough losing the first two. [I] had chances to get back into it. I let it slip, I mean, both times in some ways. I guess I won the wrong points out there today. I knew how important that second set tiebreak was, so clearly that hurt, losing that one. The end wasnt pretty. It wasnt easy to play with the shadow. But it was the same for both of us. [It was] just a disappointing loss. The four-time Aussie champion -- his last win came in 2010 -- Federer aced Seppi 15 times but also committed nine double faults, including one to go down 15-30 in the 12th game of the fourth set. The Swiss star fought back and won the game with an ace to force a tiebreak. Federer holds a mens-record 17 Grand Slam titles, but its the three-time ATP champion Seppi who moved on to face Aussie Nick Kyrgios. Meanwhile, third-seeded former No. 1 Rafael Nadal got past Israeli Dudi Sela 6-1, 6-0, 7-5 and No. 6 seed Andy Murray, a three-time Aussie Open runner- up, eased to a 6-1, 6-1, 7-5 win over Portuguese Joao Sousa and will next face No. 10 Grigor Dimitrov, who battled Marcos Baghdatis for 3 hours, 27 minutes before besting the 2006 Melbourne runner-up 4-6, 6-3, 3-6, 6-3, 6-3 win. The 14-time Grand Slam champion Nadal beat Federer in the 2009 Aussie final and is a two-time runner-up in Melbourne, including last year when he was stunned by Stan Wawrinka in the final. Nadal, of course, is the reigning French Open king. Nadals fourth-round opponent will be tall South African Kevin Anderson. In other third-round action involving seeds, No. 7 former Wimbledon runner-up Tomas Berdych handled Serb and last weeks Sydney champion Viktor Troicki 6-4, 6-3, 6-4 and a No. 14 Anderson dismissed No. 24 Frenchman Richard Gasquet 6-4, 7-6 (7-3), 7-6 (8-6). Up next for Berdych will be dangerous Aussie Bernard Tomic. Also on Day 5, the promising crowd favorite Kyrgios doused Tunisian Malek Jaziri 6-3, 7-6 (8-6), 6-1 and an all-Aussie affair saw Tomic knock out Sam Groth 6-4, 7-6 (10-8), 6-3. The third round will resume here on Saturday, including matches for current world No. 1 Novak Djokovic, the fourth-seeded reigning Oz champion Wawrinka and fifth-seeded U.S. Open runner-up Kei Nishikori. Djokovic will take on 31st-seeded Spaniard Fernando Verdasco, while Wawrinka will encounter Finnish veteran Jarkko Nieminen and the Japanese Nishikori will be opposed by American two-time NCAA singles champion Steve Johnson. The reigning Wimbledon champ Djokovic is a seven-time major titlist, including four Aussie crowns. He captured the title at Melbourne Park three straight years from 2011-13. Also slated for action Saturday are eighth-seeded Canadian Milos Raonic, ninth-seeded former Roland Garros finalist David Ferrer and 19th-seeded towering American John Isner. SAKHIR, Bahrain -- Ferrari team principal Stefano Domenicali has conceded that his team will likely be playing catch-up to Mercedes throughout the Formula One season. Obi Melifonwu Jersey . Speaking ahead of this weekends Bahrain Grand Prix, which will be a night race for the first time, Domenicali said rival engine manufacturers Mercedes and Renault have an advantage on Renault because their road-car divisions have more experience with fuel-efficient six-cylinder engines, which have come into F1 this year. "We know that other engine manufacturers have advanced knowledge because they use that technology in their road cars, so we knew it was not going to be easy," Domenicali said on the official F1 website. "But we know the areas where we need to improve and falling into disappointment doesnt help." "If Mercedes keeps the pace it will be very difficult to match them." Ferrari has been well off the pace of the Mercedes team and Renault-powered Red Bull in the first two races in Australia and Malaysia, with Fernando Alonsos two fourth-place finishes the best the Italian team could manage. Domenicalis discussions with Red Bull driver Sebastian Vettel in the paddock at last weekends Malaysian Grand Prix sparked renewed speculation that Ferrari was interested in signing the German, but the Ferrari chief insisted his team was satisfied with the performance of current drivers Alonso and Kimi Raikkonen, who simply need a better car. "That is the urgent need, and it has to happen very soon," Domenicali said. "So far Fernando has proved to be fast immediately. Kimi needs some time to understand the car, but you can see he is getting there. I am sure from the drivers side there will not be a problem. "Sebastian is a fantastic driver, a four-time champion. Thats a fact. We as Ferrari are very pleased with what we have, and I am sure that Sebastian is also pleased with his situation because it looks as if he can fight again." Bo Jackson Raiders Jersey . Randle also signed an extension with the Blue Bombers. "This is a great day for me as an athlete," said Randle. "To be going to a team that really wants me, and to an organization with great fans, a new stadium, and desire to win, I really couldnt be more excited." Randle spent the past two seasons with the Stampeders, starting 16 gammes in 2013 and registering 34 defensive tackles, eight special teams tackles, four interceptions (tied for team lead), one sack and one forced fumble. PHILADELPHIA -- The Washington Nationals already have developed a knack for comebacks. Adidas Energy Boost 3 . Adam LaRoches tiebreaking single in the eighth inning helped the Nationals rally from an early deficit to beat the Philadelphia Phillies 5-3 Friday night. Cliff Lee outpitched Stephen Strasburg, but the Phillies bullpen struggled again. Mike Adams (1-1) and Jake Diekman allowed three runs and five hits in an inning. The Nationals have nine comeback wins in 29 games. "Its a bunch of guys who are not going to quit," Strasburg said. Benches and bullpens emptied in the fifth after Denard Span exchanged words with Lee. Span was upset that Lee threw an inside fastball as he called time-out. After he grounded out, Span stopped between the plate and the mound on his way back to the dugout and said something to Lee. Players ran on the field, but nothing happened. "He kept looking at me so I just said, If youre going to stand there in the box, be ready to hit," Lee said. "Ill take that strike every time, but I threw a ball." Lee allowed two runs -- one earned -- and four hits, striking out five in seven innings. Strasburg was hurt by an error on right fielder Jayson Werth, who dropped a foul ball two pitches before Marlon Byrd hit a three-run homer in the first inning. The hard-throwing right-hander gave up three unearned runs and six hits, striking out five in six innings. "After the first inning, I had better command on my fastball," Strasburg said. Jerry Blevins (2-0) retired the two batters he faced in the seventh to earn the win. Rafael Soriano tossed a scoreless ninth for his sixth save in six tries and extended his scoreless streak to 23 innings, dating to last season. The Phillies, who played just their second game in five days, have lost two in a row at home after a 6-4 trip to the West Coast. They had two scheduled off days this week and another game was rained out. Strasburg retired the first two hitters before Chase Utley and Ryan Howard hit consecutive singles. Werth then let Byrds fly ball bounce off his glove after a long run near the foul line. One pitch later, Byrd lined a 96 mph fastball into the seats in right-centre to give the Phillies a 3-0 lead. Lee left with a 3-2 lead, but the NLs worst bullpen promptly blew it. Span led off the eighth with a double off Adams. He stole third and scored on Anthony Rendons single to centre to tie it at 3-3. Werth followed with a single up the middle. Diekman replaced Adams and allowed LaRoches go-ahead RBI hit to centre. "They just keep battling," Nationals manager Matt Williams said. "Coming back is a trait they have. They fight. Its a very good sign." Ian Desmond followed LaRoches single with a double to right that just eluded Byrds diving attempt. Diekman escaped further trouble by striking out Danny Espinosa and Moore with runners on second and third. After Jose Lobaton walked to load the bases, Diekman struck out pinch-hitter Zach Walters. Tyler Moore connected off Lee in the third to cut it to 3-1. Moore started the fifth with a single, advanced to third when Jose Lobaton reached on second baseman Utleys fielding error. After Strasburg sacrificed, Span drove in Moore on a groundout to Utley. "It seems like we have a quiet confidence," Moore said. The Phillies relievers have a 5.07 ERA and have blown six saves, though closer Jonathan Papelbon is 8 for 9. "Weve been good in the eighth and ninth innings to this point, so its disappointing," Phillies manager Ryne Sandberg said. NOTES: Moore is 6 for 12 with two homers off Lee. ... Lee had four walks entering the game, but walked two, including Strasburg on four pitches. ... Former Phillies closer Brad Lidge, who was 48 for 48 in save chances during Philadelphias 2008 World Series championship season, will throw out the first pitch Saturday night. ... Jodie Meeks and Xavier Henry scored 15 points apiece for the Lakers, who led by 20 points in the first half before coasting to their 12th win in their last 13 regular-season meetings with New Orleans.EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. -- Matt Cassel has seen a lot in 10 years in the NFL, including by his count seven different offensive co-ordinators in his last six seasons in the league. So when Cassel re-signed with the Minnesota Vikings in the off-season and started to digest Norv Turners new system, he knew hed have to work harder and study longer than he ever had before to win the starting job. Mission accomplished. Cassel was named the starting quarterback over first-round draft pick Teddy Bridgewater on Monday for the regular season opener against the St. Louis Rams, an achievement that resonated with a player who has evolved from no-name rookie to backup sensation to embattled starter and then to a journeyman veteran scratching and clawing to get another shot. "Ive been through a lot in my career," Cassel said. "Ive been through the ups, Ive been through the downs. Ive been through the highs and the lows. At this point nothing really surprises me in my career. Because of those (experiences), it callouses you to a few different situations that as a younger player I might not have taken it as well." One of those situations happened last year in Minnesota, when Cassel outplayed Christian Ponder and Josh Freeman during the season, but wound up starting only six games during a miserable 5-10-1 season. The Vikings fired coach Leslie Frazier and the rest of the staff after the season, hired Mike Zimmer and Turner to turn things around and brought Cassel back to bring some stability to the position. Cassel has been sharp while starting all three preseason games. He has completed more than 66 per cent of his passes for 367 yards with two touchdowns and one interception. "Matt did not do anything to lose the job this preseason," Zimmer said. "I think hes played great. The team has a lot of confidence in him. They feel good about his veteran leadership and presence." The Vikings traded back into the first round on draft night to get Bridgewater with the 32nd pick and have pegged him as the long-term answer for the teams unsettled quarterback spot. After an understandably up-and-down preseason opener, Bridgewater has played well iin the last two games. Questar Boost. In all three games, Bridgewater is 26 of 40 for 266 yards, four touchdowns and no interceptions while getting most of his action with the backups and has impressed with his unflappable demeanour and low-key presence. "I told Teddy this morning that Im so happy hes here with us," Zimmer said. "Im glad hes the guy we picked. Ive loved everything that hes done. It wasnt anything that Teddy did or didnt do. Teddy will be, still in my estimation, a great player for this franchise for years to come." Bridgewater took the news in stride, saying he was looking forward to learning from Cassel, continuing to refine his understanding of the offence while staying ready if hes needed at any point this season. "When camp first started, I just wanted to learn as much as I could and try to get better each and every day, try not to make the same mistakes twice," Bridgewater said. "So I take my hat off to Matt. Hes been playing great this preseason. Im just going to continue to learn under him." In his first season as a head coach, Zimmer was asked if Cassel was his starter for the entire season or if there was a chance for Bridgewater to see time at some point in his rookie year. "We will hold the quarterback position to the exact same expectations as we do every other position. If you perform, you play. If you dont perform, then the next guy will get an opportunity at some point. And when we decide to do that, we sit down and discuss it. "That position, just like the outside linebacker spot, we have an expectation of performance and as long as those guys perform, they play."
