One of the best rivalries in baseball will be revisited on Monday night when the
Francisco Lindor Jerseys
Rangers and Blue Jays open a four-game series at Globe Life Park.
This is the second -- and final -- series between these teams in 2017.
The first set of games went by without any incidents earlier
Jake Arrieta Jerseys
this season in Toronto, but when it comes to the Blue Jays and Rangers,
there's always a chance for fireworks.
The Blue Jays own the bragging rights after eliminating the Rangers
from the postseason during each of the last two years. Toronto sent
Texas packing in the American League Division Series in 2015 on Jose
Bautista's bat flip, while last year sweeping the Rangers in three
games.
Rangers right-hander Austin Bibens-Dirkx will be making his third start
since being recalled from Triple-A on May 7. He is 1-0 with a 3.09 ERA
in his two starts. He beat Max Scherzer and the Nationals, 5-1, in his
last start, holding them to one run in seven innings.
Bibens-Dirkx has also made five relief appearances. He has held
left-handers to a .171 average while right-handers are hitting .224.
Opponents are also hitting .188 off him with runners in scoring
position, including 0-for-7 with two outs.
"I get another start so I'm pretty excited," Bibens-Dirkx said. "I
already threw against Toronto so I'll have to have a different game
plan. They'll have a better scouting report on me so I have to go out
and make pitches. If you make quality pitches, you have a chance. If
you make a mistake,
it's not going to turn out well."
Right-hander Marco Estrada will get the call for the Blue Jays. Home
runs have been an issue for Estrada recently, with 10 allowed over his
past 44 1/3 innings. He fell victim
Kris Bryant Jerseys
to some bad luck in his last start, but he left many pitches over the
plate for the Rays' hitters to barrel up and the end result was six runs
over 3 1/3 innings.
