TheAir Jordans 2017 is the latest movie-centric collaborative sneaker from Nike and animation studio Laika. "A few times I've said my least favorite [Air Jordan] is the Cheap Air Jordan Shoes," Hatfield says. Later he explains that this collaboration gave him the opportunity to redesign the oft-maligned sneaker. "It was like a do-over. It's like, I never really get to do-over anything, and so that was a do-over."The left and right shoes are mismatched, with blue and red colorways telling the story of good and evil.Complex and a number of other outlets are giving away pairs of the sneakers. For the most part, the retro returns just as you remember, unless you're a serious baller who remembers the inclusion of forefoot Zoom Air.The Air Jordan 15 release pictured is part of Jordan Brand's collection also including the Air Jordan 8 and the Air Jordan 5.Those looking to add this pair to their spring rotations will be able to do so when it releases Saturday, March 4.

Designed by Tinker Hatfield, the Air Jordan 15 was inspired by the X-15 hypersonic jet plane. The sneaker features a Kevlar mesh woven upper, a dynamic fit inner bootie, and Zoom Air in both the heel and the forefoot. The exaggerated tongue on the sneaker is also inspired by Michael Jordan's trademark tongue-out playing style.The Air Jordan 15 is set to return in 2016. The sneaker will retro this month via a limited edition collaboration centered around Kubo and the Two Strings, a movie from animation studio Laika that opens in August.
