Chris Conte and Keith Tandy combined for some of the biggest plays in the Bucs' five-game win streak last season, but the offseason saw<a href="http://www.officialnflfalconsshop.com/shop-by-players-sean-renfree-jersey-c-9_97.html">http://www.officialnflfalconsshop.com/shop-by-players-sean-renfree-jersey-c-9_97.html</a> the Bucs sign J.J. Wilcox as a free agent and draft Texas A&M's Justin Evans in the second round, setting up all kinds of competition for playing time this fall.
"It's good for everyone," Conte said. "I think almost every year I've played safety there's been somebody drafted at safety. When it's a second-round pick, he's going to get on the field in some manner. We look forward to it and I hope <a href="http://www.officialpanthersstore.com/shop-by-players-scott-simonson-jersey-c-9_83.html">http://www.officialpanthersstore.com/shop-by-players-scott-simonson-jersey-c-9_83.html</a> he's a great addition to our team."
Conte and Tandy were among five Bucs players who spent Friday morning at Bing Elementary, which won the team's "Play 60" contest by logging the most exercise minutes, getting $2,500 in physical education as a reward for their hard work.
Conte had key interceptions to spark a win against Chicago and help seal a win against Kansas City, and Tandy had clinching interceptions against San Diego and New Orleans. The Bucs did not re-sign Bradley McDougald, so Wilcox essentially offsets him on the field, but Evans will be in the mix for major playing time.
Tandy said he and Conte have bonded <a href="http://www.officialpatriotsonline.com/shop-by-players-clay-harbor-jersey-c-2_48.html">Clay Harbor Youth Jersey</a> in the offseason, even going to the Eric Church concert in Tampa on Thursday night, and both will embrace the challenge of going up against the newcomers this fall.
"We're always looking for competition, looking for ways to make the team better," said Tandy, who got engaged in the offseason and will be getting married next summer. "It makes everybody raise their game up. We're all going to challenge each other, then we're all going to hang out off the field."
Conte enjoyed his offseason -- he owns a home in Tampa and doesn't mind staying in the area in the offseason, saying the climate makes that easier than in his Bears days.
"It's almost like being on vacation, easy to<a href="http://www.ravensshopsofficial.com/shop-by-players-steve-smith-sr-jersey-c-2_41.html">Steve Smith Sr Authentic Jersey</a> get away to the beach," he said. "It's a little different than Chicago, when you wanted to get the heck out of there in the winter. There's no rush to leave Tampa."
