Growing up in Allentown, Pennsylvania, Reed spent nearly every day at the Boys & Girls Club. Since retiring from the NFL in 2000, Reed has spoken at many Boys & Girls Clubs around the country to raise funds and support for the cause.

The Collier County chapter’s fifth annual Youth of the Year Celebration was at Artis–Naples. On Monday, Reed spoke to a group of local Boys & Girls Club kids at the Naples facility.

Reed also is a member of the Boys & Girls Club of America Alumni Hall of Fame. The Andre Reed Foundation was established in 2010 to support underprivileged children, and one of the beneficiaries is the Boys & Girls Club.

Following its 2013 charity golf tournament, Reed’s foundation donated $25,000 to the Boys & Girls Club of Allentown.
