PITTSBURGH -- A. Supply China Cheap Jerseys .J. Burnett walked into the Pittsburgh Pirates dugout after falling two runs down to the Cincinnati Reds in the second inning Saturday night when his catcher decided it was time for a little pep talk. "I told him Thats all were giving up today and he said Yes sir," Russell Martin said. "Thats his attitude. If you give up a couple, its not the end of the world. If you give up a couple, youve got to keep going out there, keep grinding." Something the veteran ace and his resilient club do better than just about anyone else in baseball. A night after a stunning ninth-inning collapse, Pittsburgh responded behind Burnett, who scattered four hits in seven strong innings to lift the Pirates to a 4-2 win and a one-game lead over the Reds for the top spot in the NL wild-card race. "Go out, its a big game, its a big series, you want to attack," Burnett said. "We were able to do that and get through seven somehow. I felt like I got stronger as it went on." Burnett struck out a season-high 12 against three walks and became the first right-hander in the 126-year history of the franchise to top 200 strikeouts in a season when he fanned Joey Votto in the sixth. "I was just focused, I was locked in," Burnett said. "It was probably the best command of that hook Ive had in a long time. I had a put-away pitch tonight, and its lot different when you have those." Jason Grilli worked the ninth for his 31st save, his first since going to the disabled list with a strained right forearm in July. Martin slugged a two-run homer, and Jose Tabata added two hits for the Pirates. Zack Cozart hit his 12th home run of the season for Cincinnati, and Ryan Ludwick added an RBI but Homer Bailey (11-11) lost his first decision since July 26. "The story of the game is we didnt score enough runs," Reds manager Dusty Baker said. "We just couldnt get much going against (Burnett). We got some runs early, then he settled down." The Reds rallied for a 6-5 win in 10 innings on Friday, turning three unearned runs in the ninth and Vottos solo homer in the 10th into a tie with the Pirates in the race for home field in the wild card round. It was the second gut-punch loss by the Pirates in three days. In danger of falling behind the Reds in the standings for the first time in since June 20, Pittsburgh reduced its magic number to three behind Burnett and a bullpen that regained its composure after a pair of potentially confidence-shaking meltdowns. Reliever Justin Wilson induced a double play to get out of the eighth, and Grilli -- an All-Star this summer after racking up 29 saves in the seasons first half -- looked like his old self while working around Ludwicks leadoff single in the ninth. "Im just a competitor," Grilli said. "I want the ball. I want to participate. Watching these guys do it for so long made me want to come back and do it with him. It was a big win, obviously, and a lot of fun to be out there." Bailey wasnt quite as sharp. Making his first start at PNC Park since throwing a no-hitter at the Pirates last September, Bailey was solid but not spectacular. An off night by Cincinnatis typically reliable defence didnt help. Alvarez reached with two outs in the third when Votto mishandled a slow chopper to first. Martin followed by taking a fastball from Bailey and sending it into the bleachers in left field to tie it at 2. Pittsburgh broke the tie in the sixth. Andrew McCutchen walked with one out and sprinted to third when Baileys attempted pickoff throw slipped past Votto and rolled to the wall. Justin Morneau walked to put runners on the corners, and Marlon Byrd hit a sacrifice to deep centre field to give the Pirates the lead. Bailey gave up four runs, two earned, and three hits with four walks and three strikeouts. "The loss is on me," Bailey said. "I had the throwing error at first base, I didnt execute very well, I made a couple of bad pitches. (The offence) gave me a couple of runs to work with early and I didnt take advantage of it. I gave them all back and then some." Reliever Zach Duke -- who spent six years in Pittsburgh during the clubs two-decade losing streak -- came on after Byrds sacrifice fly and immediately surrendered an RBI single to Alvarez that gave the Pirates a two-run cushion. NOTES: Cincinnati CF Shin-Soo Choo sat out after injuring his right hand while sliding into first base on Friday. Baker said he wasnt sure when Choo will return. ... Cincinnati rookie OF Billy Hamilton will make his second start of the season on Sunday. The base stealing specialist went 3 for 4 with four stolen bases in his previous start against Houston on Wednesday. ... The series concludes on Sunday when Pittsburghs Jeff Locke (10-6, 3.27 ERA) faces Cincinnatis Bronson Arroyo (13-11, 3.56). Wholesale NFL Jerseys China . Coach Tom Thibodeau says the former MVP will probably start travelling with the team in the next few weeks. Rose tore the meniscus in his right knee at Portland in November and was ruled out for the remainder of the season by the Bulls. Wholesale Jerseys . The Browns coaching search remains incomplete. http://www.nflchinastore.net/ . Malkin got tangled up with Detroits Luke Glendening early in the third period and his left skate took the brunt of collision with the boards behind Pittsburghs net. Each week, we will run down the top waiver wire pickups with a focus on the coming week and rest of the season. QUARTERBACKS Terrelle Pryor (vs Steelers)Last week: ByePryor is still only owned in less than half the leagues and while he didnt maintain his early season numbers, he should still find a home somewhere during the bye weeks. The Raiders are coming off a bye week and playing the improving (but still not that good) Pittsburgh Steelers. Pryor has built a successful connection with Denarius Moore of late and if they find each other for another touchdown pass on Sunday, Pryors numbers will certainly warrant a bye week fill-in start. Ryan Tannehill (at Patriots)Last week: 19/37, 196 yards, 3 TDs; 2 INTsTannehill looked very shaky against the Bills on Sunday but his day was saved from a fantasy perspective by his three passing touchdowns. The Dolphins running game just isnt very good though so Tannehill will continue to be relied upon to make plays through the air and its not like he doesnt have weapons in the passing game. With so many injuries at the QB position and teams on byes, you could do worse than Tannehill as a plug and play. Mike Glennon (vs Panthers)Last week: 26/44, 256 yards, 2 TDsWith Doug Martin gone for the foreseeable future and likely the season, Glennon might be forced to air it out more. Glennon has shown some improvement over his three starts and has thrown for at least 250 yards and two touchdowns in each of the last two weeks. Hes got a tough matchup against the Panthers this week, but if youre desperate at the QB position, Glennon should be on your radar. Geno Smith (at Bengals)Last week: 17/33, 233 yards, 1 TDs, 1 INT; 32 rush yards, 1 rushing TDIts been someting of a roller coaster ride for the Jets rookie QB this season. Hes mixed in some great fantasy games (three 20-point games) with some real stinkers (two sub-10-point games). If youre looking for consistency, look elsewhere, but if you want a bye week pick up or injury replacement with the potential for a big game you should consider Smith. Others: Josh McCown (Bye), Case Keenum (Bye) RUNNING BACKS Mike James (vs Panthers) Last week: 11 carries, 17 yards, 1 TDDoug Martin is likely out for the season with a torn labrum and that means James is going to be a very popular waiver pickup this week. The Bucs offence hasnt exactly set the NFL on fire this season but any back that is likely to get more than 15 carries has to be owned. Dont expect James to be your saviour - hes not nearly as good a back as Doug Martin, but he can slide in as a decent RB2/FLEX option for the remainder of the season. Roy Helu Jr. (at Green Bay)Last week: 11 carries, 41 yards, 3 TDs; 1 catch, 5 yardsWhen the Redskins go to the hurry-up, Helu becomes their every-down back. They went there great success against the Bears on Sunday and Helu rewarded them with three touchdowns. He wont score three times every week, but given the effectiveness of their hurry-up set, dont be surprised if Helus workload increases in the coming weeks. Alfred Morris is still the clear No.1, but Helu should continue to see around a dozen touches per week and be on the field during all passing downs. He is a high-end FLEX option with even more value in PPR formats. Joseph Randle (at Green Bay)Last week: 199 carries, 65 yards; 3 catches, 28 yardsRandle doesnt bring a whole lot of flash to the Cowboys backfield but he is their starting, early-down back. NFL Jerseys China. Any running back that is getting 20 touches needs to be rostered based on volume alone. So long as DeMarco Murray is sidelined, Randle should be owned. Chris Ivory (at Bengals)Last week: 34 carries, 104 yards; 1 catch, -2 yardsWhere did that come from? Chris Ivory dominated the workload in the Jets backfield on Sunday out-touchding Bilal Powell 34-3 in a win over the Patriots. Its unlikely that the split continues to skew so heavily towards Ivory, but it can likely be taken as an indication that Ivory will continue to see a fair number of looks going forward. He has fantasy relevance again. Others: Donald Brown (Bye), Mike Tolbert (at Bucs) WIDE RECEIVERS Harry Douglas (at Cardinals)Last week: 7 catches, 149 yards, 1 TDHarry Douglas needs to be owned. Julio Jones is done, Roddy White is having a hard time staying healthy and Tony Gonzalez (with the exception of Week 6) just hasnt dominated. Matt Ryan has to throw the ball and Douglas will be a big beneficiary. He looked good as the Falcons No.1 wideout on Sunday grabbing all seven of his targets for 149 yards including a 37-yard touchdown. He is worth a pickup in pretty much any format. Jarrett Boykin (at Vikings)Last week: 8 catches, 103 yards, 1 TDWith Randall Cobb and James Jones both sitting out last week with knee injuries, Boykin stepped up and had a career night. He hauled in eight catches on 10 targets including an athletic 39-yard reception and a nice 20-yard touchdown. The Packers receiving corps also took another significant hit against the Browns with Jermichael Finley going down, so, even if Jones is able to return in Week 8, Boykin figures to maintain a sizeable workload. With Aaron Rodgers at quarterback that means he is worth owning. Darrius Heyward-Bey (Bye)Last Week: 4 catches, 44 yards, 1 TDWith Reggie Wayne out for the season with a torn ACL, Heyward-Bey will be thrust into a bigger role in the Colts passing game. T.Y. Hilton becomes the clear No. 1 receiver but guys like DHB and Coby Fleener should see a pretty sizeable uptick in usage in the passing game. He had played a significant role in the Colts win over the Broncos in Week 6 and caught his first touchdown of the season. He is on the WR3 radar. Others: Jeremy Kerley (at Bengals), Kendall Wright (Bye), Kris Durham (vs. Cowboys) TIGHT ENDS Jordan Reed (at Broncos)Last week: 9 catches, 134 yards, 1 TDWe said pick Reed up in this space last week. If you listened it paid off big. If you didnt, do it now. The rookie is miles ahead of Fred Davis, who was a healthy scratch on Sunday, in the Redskins tight end pecking order now. He is a solid TE1 option for the rest of the season. Heath Miller (at Raiders)Last week: 2 catches, 17 yards, 1 TDDont worry too much about the fact that Miller only caught two passes last week. He is Ben Roethlisbergers security blanket and will maintain a significant role in the Steelers going forward. Expect more targets and catches against Oakland this week.
