LEVI, Finland -- American teenager Mikaela Shiffrin easily won the World Cup slalom opener Saturday, beating reigning Olympic champion Maria Hoefl-Riesch of Germany by more than a second to send an immediate message to her rivals ahead of the Sochi Games. Felix Potvin Maple Leafs Jersey . The 18-year-old slalom world champion led by half a second after the first run and raced seamlessly at the top of the hill in the second to extend her advantage, overcoming a mistake near the end to clock a combined time of 1 minute, 55.07 seconds. "Im really happy with how the day went and Im also really excited because it looks like there are some pretty fast girls in the back of the pack," Shiffrin said. "Im excited for the Olympics for sure but there are a couple of races between now and then, so hopefully I can just keep this going." Hoefl-Riesch, who was in a tie for third place after the first run, skied nearly flawlessly in the second but still finished 1.06 seconds behind in second place. Last years overall World Cup champion Tina Maze of Slovenia, who struggled in the giant slalom opener in Soelden last month, was third, 1.61 back. Shiffrin emerged as a major star in the discipline last season by winning both the World Cup slalom title and the world championship race, making her one of the major medal favourites for the Sochi Olympics. Her dominant display on Saturday did little to lower expectations on the teenager -- although Shiffrin thinks theres still plenty of room for improvement. "Every day there is something you can do better," Shiffrin said. "Im going to go back and study my skiing from today and study all the other girls to see who is doing what well and try to get better." Another 18-year-old also made a name for herself, as Christina Ager of Austria finished fourth in her first career World Cup start. Ager started with bib No. 53 but was fifth after the first run -- in part because of favourable winds -- and then missed the podium by just 0.07 seconds. Hoefl-Riesch has won three World Cup slaloms in Levi and made the podium for the seventh time here. "It was a great day for me. I had a good feeling in training already," she said. "Its always really special for me here because of my first win many years ago and because of my many good results here." Maze said she was happy to get back to skiing fast after the disappointing result in Soelden, where she struggled with the high expectations after her dominance last season. "I got a lot of pressure in Soelden race, it was the start of the season so it was not easy to handle all of this pressure so I felt really empty," Maze said. "But at the end I realized its nothing important, the only thing important is to ski fast." Marlies Schild of Austria, the slalom specialist who injured her knee in December 2012, returned for the first time since recovering fully but was already well behind Shiffrin in the first round by the time she missed a gate and skied out. Still, Schild was just happy to finally be able to ski without feeling any effects of the injury. "Of course I wanted to race a second run but yeah, its not so bad at all," Schild said. "Im in a good shape, I have no pain anymore and thats very important for me and I just have to wait, I think, to get a good feeling." Four-time former overall World Cup champion Lindsey Vonn skipped the Levi meet and will make her debut in the speed events in Beaver Creek, Colorado, after recovering from a right knee injury sustained in a crash in February. "She is back and shes strong," Shiffrin said of her teammate. "Im impressed with how strong she is. ... I dont think anybody should count her out thats for sure." For Shiffrin, the Olympic gold medal is clearly main goal for this season, although she received another memorable prize on Saturday. In a first for this year, organizers presented the winner with a live reindeer from the local Lapland region. Shiffrin named the 6-month-old reindeer Rudolf, although she wont be allowed to take him home with her. "I scared him off a bit when I jumped off the podium to meet him but I think we will be getting along," Shiffrin said. "I hope that when he gets older and trained I can go for a ride on a sledge with him." Grant Fuhr Maple Leafs Jersey . Dawson, who could have tested the open market as an unrestricted free agent, decided instead to remain a Knighthawk for the remainder of his National Lacrosse League career. "It allows me to play for (Knighthawks owner) Curt (Styres) and play out my career in Rochester," said the 31-year-old Dawson. "When you have a leader and an owner that cares about his players more so off the floor than on the floor, it really makes your decision to sign and end your career under Curt that much easier. It is truly an honor playing for him and I am excited to make a serious run at the championship this year." By re-signing Dawson, Rochester retains one of the most prolific scorers and playmakers in NLL history. The trade, which also sent his brother Paul to Rochester, rejuvenated his career. Last season, the veteran completed his 12th season in the NLL with his first NLL Championship. Dawson finished the regular season second on the Knighthawks in points (75) and assists (52). He was equally as dangerous in the playoffs, as he led Rochester in goals (six) and finished tied with Cody Jamieson with 14 points in three games. The Roughriders announced on Monday says the Grey Cup champions will host -- as the visitors -- the expansion club in a preseason contest on June 14. "The Redblacks will be on the home side of the field, introduced from their own inflatable helmet and were working on a whole series of fan entertainment features to make it really seem like their home game." The game is the Redblacks home portion of the preseason, which the Roughriders will host while Ottawas TD Place Stadium undergoes its final tune-ups in preparation for the regular-season home opener in July. "What better place to open a new CFL era than in the city with the most vibrant fans in the CFL," said Jeff Hunt, President of OSEG Sports. MILWAUKEE -- A short jumper off the glass. Santiago Castano Jersey . A stutter-step shot that drew a foul. An easy layup after a teammate sealed off a defender in the middle. After a bruising tussle with Marquette in the first half, Shannon Scott helped energize No. 10 Ohio State early in the second half for a big win on the road. Scott scored 13 points, including the three buckets during the 12-4 run after halftime, and the Buckeyes pulled away for a 52-35 win Saturday over the cold-shooting, 17th-ranked Golden Eagles. Sam Thompson also scored 13, while Aaron Craft added 10 points and 10 assists for the Buckeyes (3-0), who ended Marquettes 27-game home winning streak, second-longest in the nation. It was the schools first loss at home since Vanderbilt beat the Golden Eagles 74-57 on Dec. 29, 2011. Only South Dakota State (30) had a longer winning streak in the country entering Saturday. Didnt look like they could pull it off after shooting just 27 per cent in the first half. But things opened up after halftime, when coach Thad Mattas team was 15 of 26 from the field (58 per cent). "Eventually, its got to go in the basket," Matta said in recounting a halftime talk. "Fortunately we had that run. It was the difference in the game." Scott, Craft and Thompson were the sparks, while Marquette (2-1) came out flat in the second half in front of a full house of 18,700 friendly fans in the BMO Harris Bradley Center. "As I told our guys, I dont feel sorry for us at all. They beat us," coach Buzz Williams said. "They beat us straight up. They beat us at home before a sellout crowd." It certainly didnt help that the Golden Eagles had 20 turnovers and shot just 10 of 53 (19 per cent) for the game, including 4 of 24 (17 per cent) in the second half. Tied at 19 at halftime, the game opened up with Ohio State going on the run and finding room to manoeuvr inside. Centre Amir Williams started the spurt by muscling out Chris Otule in the post for a basket. Then Williams sealed off Otule in the lane to allow Scott to go in for an uncontested layup. After forcing a steal of Jake Thomas, Scott sped down the court and drew a foul on Thomas on the stutter-step jumper. Lenzelle Smith Jr. lowered his head driving the baseline and flipped up a tough shot around Marquettes big men for a 31-23 lead with 16:21 left. "Defensively, we just didnt get back in transition, and from that point on they had the advantage," point guard Derrick Wilson said. Coach Williams called a timeout that briefly settled his team before the Buckeyes pulled away again. Ohio State had just three turnovers in the second half to 10 for the Golden Eagles, who are breaking in a new backcourt with last years starting trio of Vander Blue, Junior Cadougan and Trent Lockett all gone. Wilson is the new starter at the point. Todd Mayo, helping to fill the minutes left by Blues departure at shooting guard, led the Golden Eagles with 11 points. Whatever the reason, Ohio State found its rhythm on the fastbreak, with a 16-0 edge, including 12-0 in the second half. "The biggest thing we wanted to do was get out in transition," Craft said. "If we could get rebounds and run, we could get lay-ups before they could set up. And thats what we wanted to do." It was another momentous day in Crafts career after he eclipsed 1,000 career points, to become the first player in team history to have that many points along with 500 assists and 200 steals. The bruising first half featured tussles under the bucket, plenty of rebounds and lots of missed shots. The teams combined to shoot 13 of 55 in a half that ended in a 19-all tie on Buckeye forward Marc Lovings 3 from the corner with 7 seconds left. The Golden Eagles had briefly taken control with an 8-0 midway for an 18-14 lead with 4:47 left through the half by making tough shots in the lane, mainly with Amir Williams on the bench. Marquette managed to outrebound Ohio State 50-34. Davante Gardner had 10 points and six rebounds. The teams were scheduled to meet last year in the Carrier Classic in Charleston, S.C. aboard the USS Yorktown, but the game was called off because weather conditions caused a slippery court. Kemar Lawrence Red Bulls Jersey . The City of Edmonton and Katz Group said that the $480 million Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) for Rogers Place has been met. "For the Katz Group and the Edmonton Oilers, we have always believed Edmontons need for a new arena was a huge opportunity to help transform our downtown into the vibrant, diverse and dynamic community that is the hallmark of every great city," said Oilers owner Daryl Katz in a statement. "We couldnt be more excited to see that vision becoming a reality and I want to thank Mayor Iveson, City Council, former Mayor Stephen Mandel, and the entire team at the City and everyone else who has laboured over this project for years for their tenacity and faith in this project." In addition to the $480 million for the arena, the cost was also confirmed through the GMP process for the four other components of the project - a community rink, Winter Garden, LRT cconnection and pedestrian pedway. Custom New York Red Bulls Jersey. The total price for the arena project is $606.5 million, which includes a $2 million contribution from MacEwan University towards the community rink to increase capacity and improve functionality. "This is an exciting day for Edmonton as we move ahead with a project that will help realize our vision of a more vibrant downtown and ensures that the Edmonton Oilers remain a vital part of our city for years to come," said Edmonton Mayor Don Iveson. "The look of Rogers Place is bold and forward-looking, just like Edmonton. As part of our downtown vision, it will serve as a symbol of our citys great future." The GMP process means that the construction manager bears all risk for cost increases in labour and materials throughout the project, protecting the City and Katz Group from having to pay more if the costs change. The new arena will seat 18,641 for hockey, with added corporate suites, wider concourses and diverse amenities. Coming off a strong game two days earlier, Ovechkin collected his 800th career point and raised his league-leading total to 43 goals with a pair of power-play scores, leading the Capitals to a 4-2 victory over the Boston Bruins on Saturday afternoon. "I think were just playing more solid right now," said Ovechkin, who became the 150th player to collect 800 points. "We dont have time to make mistakes. Every point right now is very important for us." Joel Ward and Eric Fehr also scored, and Braden Holtby made 36 saves for the Capitals, who won their fourth straight in their push for the playoffs. "I think we were missing our swagger a little bit," Ward said of his teams play before the Olympic break. "When our team plays with a little bit of cockiness we seem to get wins. We were missing that before the break. Were finding ways to win. The bottom line is were winning games." Ovechkin had the go-ahead goal and two assists in a 5-4 win at Florida on Thursday. Its his first season of 40-plus goals since collecting 40-plus in his first five seasons from 2005-06 to 2009-10. The Capitals star winger even impressed Bruins goalie Tuukka Rask with his second goal. "The second one it seemed like he was going short side and it just kind of knuckled in," Rask said, breaking into a slight smile to show how impressed he was with the shot. "I was trying to ask him and he was kind of shaking his shoulders. Its funny when you see those. He was kind of leaning into it. Its like impossible to go the other way and it goes the other way. Youre like, Come on, buddy." Washington, which hosts Philadelphia on Sunday afternoon, remained one point behind the Flyers for the conferences eighth and final playoff spot. Patrice Bergeron and Shawn Thornton had Bostons goals. Rask stopped 27 shots in his first start since winning the bronze medal with Finland at the Sochi Olympics. It was just the Bruins second regulation loss in their past 13 games (8-2-3). The Bruins lost 5-4 in overtime at Buffalo on Wednesday. "Were getting caught cheating too much in the offensive side and its ending up in the back of the net," Boston coach Claude Julien said. "Its something we need to fix because were giving up too many goals." Bruins captain Zdeno Chara was disappointed how his team started out. "For sure that wasnt our best game," he said. "We could have done a numberr of things differently and better. Hurricanes Jersey. We have to learn from games like this, especially against an opponent like this." The Capitals opened a 3-0 lead on second-period goals by Ovechkin and Ward. Similar to his first score of the game, Ovechkin one-timed a blistering shot over the right shoulder of Rask inside the far post from the left circle for his milestone point. Ward stole a puck near the blue line from defenceman Johnny Boychuk, broke in alone and shifted to his backhand before tucking a shot behind Rask for an unassisted score midway into the period. The Bruins cut it to 3-1 on Bergerons power-play goal 41 seconds later when he snapped off a shot from the slot that beat Holtby inside the left post. Thorntons centring pass was inadvertently tipped past Holtby by defenceman Mike Green as he was skating hard to the net battling for position with Bruins forward Gregory Campbell at 17:32. The goal was originally credited to Campbell, but changed early in the third. But the Capitals made it 4-2 when Fehr scored on a clean breakaway midway into the third. He poked the puck into an open area near centre ice from his own blue line, skated in on Rask and beat him between the pads. Holtby made a key pad save on Chris Kellys breakaway bid while his team was on a power play with 3:06 to play. Washington led 1-0 after one on Ovechkins first goal. He one-timed John Carlsons pass from the left circle inside the far post at 18:39. The Capitals held Boston to one shot on goal when they were short-handed for a full two minutes after Jay Beagle was called for holding and Tom Wilson high-sticking during the delayed penalty early in the first period. "That was a big kill for us," Holtby said. "I didnt know it was a 5-on-3 until I looked up on the faceoff. The guys made some big plays. I think one or two shots got through." NOTES: Capitals RW Martin Erat, who had to leave Thursdays game after injuring his left foot, tried to skate during pregame warmups but came off quickly and was not in the lineup. ... TSN Hockey Insider Pierre LeBrun added Tuesday that if the 2014 first-round draft pick acquired by Buffalo in the deal ends up being a Top 10 selection in June, the Islanders would have the option to defer the pick to the 2015 draft. Another wrinkle in trade news from the weekend came up on Tuesday as TSN Hockey Insider Darren Dreger reportted that Vanek was offered to the Toronto Maple Leafs three-to-four days ago, but there was no deal to be made. Tie Domi Maple Leafs Jersey. . According to Dreger, the return that general manager Darcy Regier received from the Islanders for Vanek was something that the Maple Leafs - or other clubs - werent willing to pay. The Islanders acquired Vanek from the Sabres in exchange for Moulson, a first-round draft pick in 2014 and a 2015 second-round pick. Vanek - who is in the last year of a seven-year, $50 million contract - will become an unrestricted free agent after this season. Moulson - who scored twice in a 4-3 loss to Dallas on Monday - is also in the final year of his deal and speculation is that the Sabres could trade him again prior to the Mar. 5 deadline.   Cheap NFL Jerseys Cheap NFL Jerseys China Cheap Jerseys From China Cheap NFL Jerseys Authentic Wholesale Jerseys China Cheap NFL Jerseys ChinaNFL Cheap Jerseys Cheap Soccer Jerseys ' ' '

MIAMI -- New Miami Dolphins offensive co-ordinator Bill Lazor says he can help head coach Joe Philbin win games and some job security. Dan Girardi Jersey. Lazor said he accepted the job Wednesday because of Philbin, even though his new boss status is shaky after two so-so seasons. "Right now my future and his future are together," Lazor said. "Im in it with him. I choose to compete and make an impact and to be a difference-maker, and thats why Im here." Lazor was hired Wednesday by Philbin after one season as quarterbacks coach with the Philadelphia Eagles, where he helped develop second-year pro Nick Foles into the NFLs top-rated passer. The Dolphins also had a second-year quarterback in Ryan Tannehill. Foles threw 27 touchdown passes and two interceptions, while Tannehill threw 24 and 17. Lazor said he studied Tannehill on video before accepting the job. "Im really excited to work with him," Lazor said. "I see a lot of ability." The Dolphins ranked 27th in the NFL in yards, finished 8-8 and missed the playoffs for the fifth consecutive year. The Eagles ranked second in total yards and offensive points, went 10-6 and won the NFC East. "A lot of the things that led to that are going to have a great impact in what I believe works going forward," Lazor said. Lazor was offensive co-ordinator at the University of Virginia from 2010 to 2012, and he has also worked for the Washington Redskins, Seattle Seahawks and Atlanta Falcons. He replaces Mike Sherman, who was fired last week after two seasons with Miami and was Tannehills head coach at Texas A&M. The Dolphins are also searching for a general manager to replace Jeff Ireland, who departed last week after six seasons. On Wednesday they announced the completion of an interview with Brian Xanders, senior personnel executive with the Detroit Lions. Five candidates interviewed earlier. Considered along with Lazor for the offensive co-ordinator job were Green Bay Packers quarterbacks coach Ben McAdoo, who was hired Tuesday as offensive co-ordinator of the New York Giants, and former Washington Redskins offensive co-ordinator Kyle Shanahan. Lazor said he and Philbin hit it off during the interview process. They had known each other casually for years. "Bill is an accomplished coach and will be a great addition to our coaching staff," Philbin said in a statement. "Bill has been instrumental in helping players reach their full potential, as players and people, at both the college and professional level. He also has a proven track record of success working with a wide variety of offences." In addition to the Eagles Chip Kelly, Lazor has coached under Dan Reeves, Joe Gibbs and Mike Holmgren. "The No. 1 thing that was common was that they had a vision of how offensive football should look," Lazor said. "Every day we went out to practice, they made sure what they saw on the field was heading toward that vision. Its the job of the coaches to keep pushing in that direction." Lazor was noncommittal regarding other possible changes in Philbins offensive staff. "He and I have not had all of our conversations about the structure of the staff," Lazor said. "Thats something that will be handled going forward." Some sort of shakeup was inevitable after the Dolphins scored once in their final 24 possessions while losing their final two games to blow a potential playoff berth. Miami allowed a franchise-record 58 sacks, and off-season upgrades will focus on an offensive line depleted by the teams midseason bullying scandal. The Dolphins might be in the market for a running back, too. Lamar Miller scored two touchdowns, the lowest total for a player leading the Dolphins in rushing since 1980. Miami threw the ball 65 per cent of the time, third-highest in the NFL. The Eagles threw it 53 per cent of the time, sixth-lowest. Eddie Giacomin Rangers Jersey . Following a lopsided 5-2 loss against the New Jersey Devils on Wednesday night, Paul MacLean told reporters that "theres a lack of focus, theres a lack of leadership and theres a lack of preparation" with his struggling team. This should be celebrated because it will not always be this way. The Cobb County commissioners voted 4-1 Tuesday night to enter into a memorandum of understanding with the baseball team. DONETSK, Ukraine -- Manchester United conceded a late equalizer in a 1-1 draw with Shakhtar to take a point from their Group A clash on Wednesday, giving David Moyes more than any other manager of an English club returning from a Champions League match in Donetsk.http://www.sauconyshoesoutletsale.com/men-s-bait-x-saucony-shadow-original-cruel-world-colab-sneakers-brown.html . Moyes didnt get the morale-boosting win United needed after sluggish start in the Premier League, but the point was more than Arsenal, Tottenham and Chelsea managed in previous Champions League trips to Shakhtar. "It was a good point in the Champions League coming here, theyve got a great record against English teams here," Moyes said. "The team stood up well tonight, they got a good goal early ... and I thought we looked as if we were going to stop them scoring; we defended very well." Danny Welbeck gave United an unexpected lead in the 18th as he slid in between two players to finish off after defender Yaroslav Rakitsky failed to clear Marouane Fellianis low cross. But the highlights were rare for United. Shakhtars Brazilian attacking quartet of Douglas Costa, Alex Teixeira, Luiz Adriano and Taison created numerous chances and the continual threat paid off in the 76th minute, when Taison finally broke through with a powerful volley after Nemanja Vidic failed to clear a cross from Rakitsky. "United took advantage of our mistake, it was a chance goal," Shakhtar coach Mircea Liucescu said. "United then sat on its half of the pitch and played for counterattack. It was our plan to bring it on in the last 25 minutes, which is why the ball ended up in the penalty area of United often. Too bad we scored only once." Both teams had opportunities. Robin Van Persie tried his luck first in the 9th with a volley that sailed over the cross bar. Three minutes later Rakitsky seized possession and sparked an attack that lead to Luiz Adrianos narrow miss. A minute later Teirxeira fell to the pitch in the area but his appeal for a penalty was ignored. Rakitskiys free kick from 40 metres went just wide in the 50th minute and, despite relentlessly pressing forward, Shakhtar was held in check by the stubborn United defence until Taisons goal. It wasnt until the last 5 minutes that Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea was forced into making more meaningful saves. United was playing without Wayne Rooney, who was sidelined after clashing shins with Welbeck in training, and was coming off an upset loss to West Bromwich Albion on the weekend. Moyes said there were positives in the draw, and the fact United had a share of the lead in the group with four points, but he wasnt getting carried away with the result. "You have to win other games if were going to progress further in this competition," he said. "But I think on paper this looked a hard away tie and weve picked up a good point." Welbeck said the draw was a move in the right direction. "I dont think many teams come here and get three points," he said. "Were a bit disappointed, were Manchester United and we want to win every single game but coming here and getting the point, youve got to be satisfied with it." Saucony Womens Shoes Clearance . Newcastle dominated in the early stages but City weathered the storm and then raised its game in extra time. Negredo broke the deadlock from close range after a simple move in the 99th minute before Dzeko took the ball round goalkeeper Tim Krul to seal the victory in the 105th.The Ottawa Senators made a low-risk investment, both in terms of picks and contract, in an effort to boost their offence. Numbers Game looks at the Senators getting Ales Hemsky from the Edmonton Oilers for a pair of draft picks. The Senators Get: RW Ales Hemsky. Hemsky, 30, is not the two-time 70-point scorer that he was earlier in his career, but there are some factors working in his favour, at least in terms of producing more offensively. For one thing, he has good possession numbers while facing high-quality opposition and starting an unsually-low (43.9%) percentage of his shifts in the offensive zone. If the Senators plug Hemskys playmaking skill alongside Jason Spezza and Milan Michalek, that would have to be considered a much better situation for an offensive player than Hemskys role in Edmonton this year, where his most common centre was checker Boyd Gordon. The Senators are in tough to try and get into the playoffs -- four points out with 20 games remaining -- but its not impossible and adding Hemsky does give them a decent chance to have a second productive scoring line. Perhaps the real coup of the deal for the Senators is that they convinced the Oilers to retain half of Hemskys salary and while thats not a huge deal for a pending unrestricted free agent, it makes for a cheap addition of a top six forward. Thhe Oilers Get: A fifth-round pick and 2015 third-round pick. Saucony Grid 9000 For Sale. The net return on this deal is remarkably little for the Oilers. Cumulatively, a fifth and third-round pick brings approximately a 36% chance of landing an NHL player, and that player is likely not going to be in the league for three or four years, at least. Its one thing to roll the dice on a few picks, but to also pick up half of Hemskys cap hit is a tad generous, but this is likely a function of how the Oilers have used Hemsky this season. If he was played in an offensive role throughout the year and put up points, there would be greater demand for his services which would obviously bring a better return. Since Hemsky was effectively playing on the Oilers third line, there is room to plug in the likes of Ryan Jones or Jesse Joensuu to fill the spot. Presumably there will be an attempt in the offseason to find a more suitable top nine forward to fill the void created by Hemskys departure. In any case, the Hemsky Era in Edmonton is over, after 477 points in 652 games, and hes going to have a decent shot to rehabilitate his offensive image before hitting free agency in the summer. Lindsey Vonn partially tore one of the reconstructed ligaments in her surgically repaired right knee in a training crash that at the very least puts her preparation for the Sochi Olympics on hold. Matt Duchene Team Canada Jersey . What is less clear at the moment: When the four-time overall World Cup champion and 2010 Vancouver downhill gold medallist will be able to compete again and how her injuries might affect her Olympic hopes. In addition to Vonns ligament tear, the U.S. Ski Team and Vonns personal publicist, Lewis Kay, issued nearly identical statements Wednesday detailing more injuries from her fall at Copper Mountain, Colo., a day earlier: a mild strain to her right knee, the same one Vonn hurt in a high-speed crash at the world championships in February; "minor facial abrasions"; a bruised shoulder blade. Vonn has not competed since needing surgery to fix her ACL and MCL after the crash in Austria nine months ago; the ACL was re-injured Tuesday. Kay said that after Vonn rests for a few days, she "then will pursue aggressive physical therapy and will determine the next time she is able to compete after seeing how she responds to the treatment." Vonn has won 59 World Cup races, leaving her only three shy of Austrian great Annemarie Moser-Proells record of 62. The 29-year-old American had been aiming to return to World Cup competition next week in Beaver Creek, Colo. The Sochi Games are in February. "If its just a partial tear, maybe its a four-plus-week recovery. I believe Lindsey is the kind of person thats going to work as hard as anybody can work at it and will recover as strong as anyone. She has the mind-frame to come back strong. If its possible for her to get out there and compete, shell be out there competing. And when she competes, she normally wins," said U.S. ski racer Ted Ligety, a gold medallist at the 2006 Turin Games. "Who knows at this point if its Olympic-threatening?" Ligety said in a telephone interview. "Obviously, its World Cup-threatening for the near term." Vonn recently said her super-G is "some of the best super-G Ive ever skied, but my downhill still needs a little more time." Shes been taking practice runs in Copper Mountain and posted on her Twitter account Monday: "Catching some air today in Downhill training." She also recently said that shes reluctantly been wearing a protective knee brace under doctors orders. "Its in my best interest to play it safe," Vonn said. "I compromised and said that as long as I dont have to wear (the brace) for the Olympics, Ill be fine." Comebacks are really nothing new for Vonn, who has been plagued by injuries throughout her career at major championships -- from a thumb she sliced on a champagne bottle at the 2009 world championships in Val dIsere, France, to a bruised shin that she treated with the unorthodox remedy of Austrian cheese at the 2010 Vancouver Olympics and to her wipeout last season. Vonn also had a horrific crash in downhill training at the 2006 Turin Olympics, only to recover in time to compete. She has always attacked rehab with the same intensity as if it were a downhill course. "Ive been injured a lot," Vonn said in an interview with The Associated Press at a promotional appearance last week. "I have a short memory when it comes to my crashes. Im able to put it out of my head and focus on tomorrow. You have to be able to do that. Otherwise, youre going to be living in fear of what you did in the past." Not once after a fall has she visited with a sports psychologist to deal with the mental trauma of a crash, insisting, "Im stubborn. Im definitely stubborn. If someone tells me I cant, Im definitely going to do it." Before her recent fall, Vonn said she was looking forward to seeing what was possible in Sochi on her repaired knee. She said the true stress came at the 2010 Vancouver Games, where she captured her first Olympic gold medal. "The pressure was almost unbearable," said Vonn, who also earned a bronze medal in the super-G in 2010. "I felt like if I didnt win there, people were going to say Im not a big-event skier, even though I won four world championship medals. I knew that, knew the weight of it. "I knew for my career, even though I had so many World Cup wins, that was a very pivotal point in my career. Im very happy that I got that monkey off my back." Ryan Getzlaf World Cup Jersey . Giroud, who wasnt in the starting lineup for two matches after allegations about his private life and a decline in form, scored twice in the first half. Tomas Rosickys chip made it 3-0 before half time at Emirates Stadium, while defender Laurent Koscielny scored an unmarked header in the second half. Sunderland scored a late consolation goal with a 25-yard strike by Emanuele Giaccherini. The result leaves Arsenal in second place with 59 points, one behind Chelsea, and Sunderland in the relegation zone in 18th place with 24 points. "We had a very demanding week physically and mentally and we gave the right response today," Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger said. Record signing Mesut Ozil, who missed a penalty in the 2-0 loss to Bayern Munich in the Champions League on Wednesday and had an argument with teammate Mathieu Flamini during the match, was sidelined with a thigh injury. Giroud, who had to apologize to his club and family after a British tabloid published photos of a model who allegedly visited his hotel room, made up for lost time against Sunderland. He scored in the fifth minute after nice buildup play between Rosicky and Jack Wilshere led to the goal, with the France forward slotting the ball past Sunderland goalkeeper Vito Mannone. Giroud struck again in the 31st when he intercepted a sloppy back pass from Santiago Vergini intended for Mannone and rolled the ball underneath Arsenals former backup keeper. Giroud now has 12 league goals. "I had no heesitation about his strength of character," Wenger said. Jamie Benn World Cup Jersey. "Of course you want him to come back into the team and be successful, which he was today because he scored two goals." Rosicky scored in the 42nd with a chip after a string of one-time passes from his teammates, and Koscielny netted with a free header in the 57th. Sunderlands goal came in the 81st after Arsenal goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny dealt with a free kick by punching the ball outside the area. It fell to Giaccherini and he unleashed a first-time shot to beat the Poland keeper. Despite losing to Bayern on Wednesday and dropping from the Premier League summit recently after months in first place, Arsenal fans were in high spirits before Saturdays match. The club unveiled a statue to former player Dennis Bergkamp outside the stadium, and Wenger compared Rosickys performance against Sunderland to Bergkamps style. "I am very pleased for Rosicky because today Bergkamp got a statue and I think Rosicky took the Bergkamp role well. Certainly Dennis will have been pleased to have seen him play," he said. In addition to Ozil, Arsenal has a few other injury concerns: Wilshere (hamstring), Koscielny (back) and Nacho Monreal (foot). While Wenger wasnt certain how bad Wilsheres injury was, he said Ozil, Koscielny and Monreal should be available next week. Sunderland plays Manchester City in the League Cup final next weekend and captain John OShea hopes his teammates have learned from the defeat. "Its a wake-up call for us, both in the league and ahead of next weekend," he said. "We have to make sure we look at ourselves individually and collectively, dust ourselves down and go again." Cheap NFL Jerseys Cheap NFL Jerseys China Cheap Jerseys From China Cheap NFL Jerseys Authentic Wholesale Jerseys China Cheap NFL Jerseys China NFL Cheap Jerseys Cheap Soccer Jerseys ' ' '

ST. Jean-Sebastien Giguere Jersey . LOUIS -- Patrik Berglund scored a power-play goal in overtime to lead the St. Louis Blues to a 3-2 win over the Dallas Stars on Saturday night. Berglund collected a rebound of Alex Pietrangelos blast that bounced off the glass behind the Dallas net. Berglunds first goal gave the Blues their second win over the Stars this preseason. Pietrangelo tied the game at 2-2 on a power-play goal with 4:41 left in regulation. Jamie Benn and Alex Chiasson scored for Dallas, which had won two straight. It was Benns second of the preseason. The Blues tied the game at 1-1 with 11:30 remaining in the second on Jaden Schwartzs goal. His score ended Dallas goalie Kari Lehtonens shutout streak at 59:30. Lehtonen stopped 33 shots. Jake Allen made 22 saves for the Blues. Teemu Selanne Ducks Jersey . PAUL, Minn. John Gibson Ducks Jersey . After Mondays hard-fought loss, the wait seemed longer than usual. Getting set to go their separate ways for a short Christmas break, the Raptors coach credited his team for their effort on a seemingly impossible three-game road trip, urging them to build on that success when they get back to work at the end of the week.DENVER -- Al Jefferson is pulling away in a big way from a slow, painful start to his season. Jefferson matched a season high with 35 points, including a key basket in the final seconds, and the Charlotte Bobcats hung on to beat the Denver Nuggets 101-98 on Wednesday night. It was the 10th consecutive game in which Jefferson has scored at least 20 points, an offensive flurry reflecting his improved health since missing nine of the Bobcats first 12 games this season because of a sprained right ankle. "It is all about staying healthy," Jefferson said. "I am 85 or 90 per cent right now. If I were 100 per cent, I could be very effective. I am working hard to get to 100 per cent." Jefferson looked awfully close to that in a game in which he also had 11 rebounds for his 14th double-double in his last 22 games. "He is scoring and then we are also scoring off him. His effect on his teammates is good," Bobcats coach Steve Clifford said. Gerald Henderson and Ramon Sessions each added 16 points for the Bobcats who beat the Nuggets in Denver for only the second time in eight games here. Randy Foye scored a season-high 33 points to lead Denver, which was without leading scorer Ty Lawson (left shoulder). His replacement, Nate Robinson, was knocked out of the game in the first quarter with a left knee sprain, forcing Foye into the unfamiliar role of running the point. "Nate and Ty, they push the ball and do so many different things," Foye said. "I just tried to mimic some of the things that Ty does, just being aggressive, taking it to the basket and trying to make plays for everybody, picking my spots where I needed to score. "But we fouled a lot. We gave them the game. We got stops. They got offensive rebounds and we fouled them. We made some bonehead plays fouling them and just putting them on the free throw line. But well figure this out. Theres no quit in this team." Robinson was hurt in a spill underneath the Nuggets basket. He got up gingerly and continued playing but was forced to leave the game a short time later. He did not return and the Nuggets said Robinson was scheduled to undergo an MRI scan on Thursday to further evaluate the injury, wwhich the team initially described as a sprain. Kevin Bieksa Jersey. Evan Fournier added 19 points for the Nuggets and Timofey Mozgov had 15. Up by one at the break, the Bobcats pulled into a 75-all tie heading into the fourth period on a pair of free throws by Sessions, helping to offset a 3-pointer by Fournier moments earlier. Jeffersons 6-foot jumper evened the score again, at 82-all, but Fournier connected on a jumper and, after a turnover by the Bobcats, Foye drained a 3-pointer to give the Nuggets a five-point edge with 6:38 remaining. Foyes long jumper produced a final tie at 95-95 with 1:08 left. Michael Kidd-Gilchrist made one of two free throws and, after Wilson Chandler missed a contested reverse layup, Jefferson sank a jumper for a 98-95 lead with 23.1 seconds remaining. Darrell Arthur made a 3-pointer with 10.7 seconds left to pull the Nuggets within 99-98, but after Henderson was fouled and made one of two free throws with 9 seconds remaining, the Bobcats defence turned away shots from up close by Fournier and Mozgov to help the Bobcats hang on. "It was a weird play at the end," Jefferson said. "The rebound (off Fourniers miss) got deflected in some kind of way. Mozgov got the ball and had a clean shot at a layup, but MKG (Kidd-Gilchrist) made a heck of a job to block it." Added Henderson: "Those are plays that win games." Leading by as many as 14 points early on, the Bobcats settled for a 53-52 halftime lead as the Nuggets outscored Charlotte 31-21 in the second quarter. Jefferson converted a three-point play to give Charlotte a 43-31 advantage with 5:47 remaining in the second, but Denver closed the period on a 21-10 run capped by Arthurs 20-jumper an instant before the first-half buzzer. Pittsburgh, PA (Sports Network) - Pittsburgh Penguins backup goaltender Tomas Vokoun will be out indefinitely after undergoing a procedure to clear up a blood clot in his pelvis. Saucony Shadow 6000 Cheap . Vokoun departed practice on Saturday morning after discovering swelling in his thigh. He was taken to a local hospital where the clot was revealed. The club announced the surgery following a 5-3 exhibition loss to the Columbus Blue Jackets. "The most important thing right now is Tomas health and well-being," Penguins GM Ray Shero said. "The clot was dissolved by the procedure, and the doctors tell us that he will remain in the hospital for several days. We will continue to monitor his progress after that." The 37-year-old native of the Czech Republic was 13-4-0 with a 2.45 goals- against average and three shutouts last season, going 6-5 with a 2.10 GAA during the postseason, which ended in a four-game sweep to the Boston Bruins in the Eastern Conference finals. Pittsburgh has one other goaltender on its roster besides starter Marc-Andre Fleury -- Jeff Zatkoff -- while Eric Hartzell had been assigned to Wilkes- Barre/Scranton of the AHL. Vokoun also missed the end of the 2005-06 season and the entire postseason, when he was the starter in Nashville, due to blood clots in his abdomen. Saucony Jazz Original Mens Black . With Utah leading by seven in the fourth quarter against the reigning NBA champs, the Jazz forward released a 22-foot jumper that wasnt close. The Jazz came right back to the unfazed Williams and his back-to-back 3-pointers sparked Utah to a 94-89 win over the Miami Heat. "I cant think of a bigger win than this one," said Williams, who scored 23 points. Trailing 87-79 after Williams shots, the Heat used a 10-4 run to draw within two points after Ray Allen made a 3 from the corner with 46 seconds to play. Rookie Trey Burke, who had 13 points, rose up and drained the clutch 19-foot jump shot to beat the shot clock and Gordon Haywards free throw clinched the win for the Jazz, who have beat the Heat at home three straight times. Burke has said he hit the classic rookie "wall" that often plagues first-year players after theyve played 35-40 games. Shooting just over 30 per cent the past three games, his teammates and coaches have encouraged him to keep shooting. "They come to me and tell me to play with confidence. Dont think about it. Just play freely. Thats what I did tonight," said Burke, who had a penchant for big shots as the AP Player of the Year at Michigan last season. Dwyane Wade had 19 points for the Heat, who missed their last four shots from the field to thwart their comeback bid. LeBron James was 4 of 13 from the field for 13 points, his lowest scoring total since he had 13 points in a 104-88 win over Atlanta on Nov. 19. "Theres nobody that can stop LeBron from scoring the basketball, but we tried to slow him down collectively as a team and I think we did pretty good," Williams said. Hayward nearly had his first triple-double with nine points, 11 assists and nine rebounds, while often guarding Wade and James. Richard Jefferson had 14 and Alec Burks had 12 points for the Jazz, who snapped their four-game losing streak in front of a frenzied crowd. James subbed in with 7:54 to play and his team trailing 77-70 and the Heat looked poised for a comeback as they also reached the penalty with 6:51 to play. But James missed his only two field goal attempts of the fourth quarter and was 2 of 4 from the line. The young Jazz, who entered the game with worst record in the Western Conference, relied on their two veterans down the stretch until Burkes big shot. Williams, who averages 9.9 points, has scored 67 points in his last three games and made 5 of 8 from beyond the arc in this one. Saucony Grid 9000 Premium Red. After his air ball, Williams made a pair of 3-pointers -- the last shot just beating the shot clock after Jefferson dove to the floor to gather a loose ball and flip it to Utahs hot hand. "He just found somebody open and I was able to get away from Chris Bosh. I just threw it up there and was able to beat the clock and it went in," Williams said. Once the Heat turned up the defensive pressure, the Jazz were often scrambling to get any shot they could muster late in the clock. When the ball ended up in the hands of Williams and Jefferson, who had seven in the final period, good things happened. "I cant say enough about their focus and desire to help this young group grow. And their play has been great, gives us a chance to be competitive every night," Utah coach Ty Corbin said of his veteran forwards. James has averaged 31.3 points and 7.8 assists per game in his last four on the road as the Heat have found their offence, shooting better than 50 per cent. "It was just one of those games where offensively we were out of rhythm and you try to win on the defensive end," said James, whose team dropped to 27-2 when holding opponents under 100 points this season. The four-time MVP also had scored 30 or more in six straight trips to Salt Lake City, averaging 33.5 points while hitting 57.7 per cent from the field, but didnt ever get things going in a contest that snapped the Heats three-game winning streak. "We didnt shoot the ball well like we are capable of doing," James said. "We had some great looks, including myself, some really open looks." Even after a couple nights off, the Heat started sluggishly and the Jazz ran around and through them for a 32-18 lead in the first quarter. The Jazz had 11 assists in the opening period and shot 62 per cent. James gave the Heat their final lead in the opening moments of the third quarter at 54-52, but Utah controlled the game the rest of the way. "It seemed we were always in the right place at the right time tonight," Hayward said. NOTES: The NBA assessed a $5,000 fine to Chalmers for a flop in the third quarter against the Los Angeles Clippers on Wednesday. The league office previously warned Chalmers for a flop against Atlanta on Jan. 20. . James had 30 points and the Heat shot a franchise-best 63.4 per cent from the field when the Heat thrashed Utah 117-94 in Miami on Dec. 16. . James loudly expressed his displeasure after a foul call on Derrick Favours drive with 1:57 to play. Cheap NFL Jerseys Cheap NFL Jerseys China Cheap Jerseys From ChinaCheap NFL Jerseys Authentic Wholesale Jerseys China Cheap NFL Jerseys China NFL Cheap Jerseys Cheap Soccer Jerseys ' ' '
